Mrs. Appelget and
Miss Beegle Entertain.
The most brilliant social success of
the season took place at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Appelget, last
Thursday evening. The occasion be-
ing the finest musicale ever rendered
in the history of Woodward. About
150 invitataions were extended to the
best people of Woodward and with
but few exceptions, all responded.
The elegant home of Mr. and Mrs.
Appleget is well adopted for social
events of this kind: the four beauti-
ful front parlors being thrown to-
gether gave the appearance of a large i
auditorium.
The house was beautifully decorated
with goldenrod and maidenhair ferns.
At the foot of the winding stairs and
in front of the north window, was a
beautiful little bower of sweet peas
and pansies interwoven with the
maidenhair: in the center of this at-
tractive corner stood a large cut glass |
punch bowl. Each guest on arriving
was ushered to this inviting retereat
where t’:ey were served with delicious
punch, by Miss Ida Nay, who in her
usual bright and winsome manner
presided over this part of the enter
tainment.
At nine o’clock the musical pro-
gram was opened by a piano duet by
Miss Beegle and Mrs. Appelget. To
those who are acquainted with the
piano performing of the two above
named artists, nothing more compli-
mentary can be said than that the
selection was rendered by them. This
opening piece was followed by other
selections,both vocal and instrumental,
rendered by the best musical talent
of Woodward, and listenened to by an
appreciative audience. Each number
deserves espectial mention but space
is to limited for that.
Both Mrs. Appelget and Miss Beegle
are artists in music as well as charm-
ing hostesses, and when the invita-
tions were received by us. we expect-
ed something above the ordinary but
must confess that our fondest hopes
were excelled.
At the close of the musical pro-
giam, dainty refreshments were
sereved and the hostesses proved to
their guests that not only did they
excel in the art of music and enter
taining but that they were just

A GOOD BATH
When you go home tired this evening wouldn’t it be
pleasant to step into your bath room, turn on the water
take a good wash, a brisk rub, and go to your supper
clean, in clean clothes?
And it takes just a minute or two.
Can you think of any investment that would give you
any measure of the keen pleasure that running water and
a bath room would bring?
This is one of the things that make life worth while.
When you are ready we will toll you just what it will
cost to put in that bath.
