FARMERS' INSTITUTES.
Deeper interest is being taken in the
work of farmers’ Institutes this tall
than ever was taken before. Attend-
ance at the ineetingB are greater ami
the quality of the papers shows study
—not of books so much as of condi-
tions met ever} day on the farms lhe
result is not iu doubt. The Oklahoma
farmer will achieve greater results in
direct ratio to his deepening interest
in growing things at the greatest ad-
vantage.
The farmers’ institutes arc the best
things in Oklahoma. The hoard of
agriculture is the greatest legislation
that the legislature lias taken forward
steps in since the territory came to be
a good country.
And in this acceptance of the situa-
tion and effort on the part of the farm-
ers is seen the best argument why the
legislature should do something more
for the farmers’interests, which are the
paramount interests, after all, in the
entire territory of Oklahoma i he
hoard of agriculture needs more
money. It needs more money than
any other institution In Oklahoma, it
is doing a great work aud the work is
for the good of the taxpayers of the
territory. The money that will he ex-
pended by the board under increased
appropriations will bring more re-
turns than any money exponded under
the direction oi the law-making pow-
ers of the territory.
It is up to the legislature to take
nitlce of the iulerest that centers
about the ui ricultural department and
abot the institutes and provide a few
things which will be linked for by the
board.
One urgent need of the board is a
provision for gathering reliable sta-
tistics of crops a.id farm animals and
data of like nature to be used for the
benefit of the farmers of the territory.
This need not cost a great deal, as
there are officers who are in a position
to do the work, but the law must be
made maudatory and the officers duly
instructed in the importance of doing
things provided in the law. — State

Doesn't Respect Old Age.
It’s shameful when youth fails to
ssliow proper respect for old age, but
just the contrary in the case of Dr.
King’s New Life Pills. They cut off
maladies no matter how severe and ir-
respective of age. Dyspepsia, jaun-
