The above diagram shows the present location of U S 70
and S Fl 99 which runs alongside Gov Gary's farm Two miles
of this road is being rebuilt on its present location Instead of
by-passing Kingston Had the rejected plan been followed it
would have given Gov 'Gary a much better entrance to his home
Plus right-of-way damages

By RAYMOND GARY Similar lunchoons honoring the
In Oklahoma all roads don't lead ! present "political" highway corn
to Rome
Neither do they all lead to Okla-
homa City or Tulsa Yet judging
by the comments of some of our
big city editorial writers only such
rcads are important
Recently the Oklahoma City
chamber of commerce held a lun-
cheon lunoring me and the state
highway commission It was an ex-
pression of appreciation for the
great amount of new highways the
capitol city has golien during my
administration
This vast netwoik of suirer7igh-
ways surrounding our biggest city
was built by the prtment litical"
highwe y commission They were
built because the commission and
myself felt they were needed and
because Oklahoma Gty has done
an outstanding job acquiring rikhtef-way
and making other necessary
prerarntins for such a program

It's The Law
Writ Of
Attachment
Explained
To the most of us the word at-
tachment means being attached by
a physical connection or by per
sonal ties of affection — not the
legal seizure of property
However in law the word means
the taking into ctrbidy of the prop-
erty of the defendant h a civil
action to be held as security for
the payment of any Judrment which
may be recove-ed in the action
In other ‘'ords the law makes
it possible for one lerson who is
owed money or property by an
other po son to hold by means of
"writ of attachment" the prop-
erty of the debtor until such time
IS a valid judgment can be execut-
ed or eqorced In this manner the
lebtor is kept from putting h i s
propery beyond the reach of his
creditor when Judgment is obtain-
ed The "writ of attachment" is is-
sued by the Court under the statute
that states that the writ shall com-
mand the sheriff or any constable
of any county wheie property of
the defendant is supposed to be
to attach so mueh of the property
Fij Win be sufficient to satisfy the
demand of the plaintiff and the
probable costs of the action
This appears to be a harsh rem-
edy so it is necessary to comply
very closely with all the require-
ments of the goveraing Ftatutes
The debtor can take action againFt
8 peson who has wrongfully at-
tached his property

The cows in my pasture can ge

ment I can get ttl:ng Ilne without
it
The only wcy this improvement
'could benefit me would be if we
followed the route recommended
by our big city editorial writers
If we did that it would give ny
farm hcme a fine new highway
frentage of considerable value
But I happen to believe the peo-
ple of Kingston w7to have big in-
vestments in busnesses that would
be tadly hurt deserve s me con-
sideration So the road is being
