Winford and Imogene Foy
(Marshall) Pike Sept. 11.
1947. on the top floor of
the NBC Bank building
(then Altus clinic hospi-
tal). She was preceded in
death by brothers James
Marshall Pike and .John
Franklin Pike and her
parents, grandparents and
several cousins. She was
baptized in the Clinton
Church of Christ and
later joined the Purcell
and th'' Altus First Baptist
Churches. She departed
this life on Jan. 24. 2019, at
Baptist Integris Hospital
in Oklahoma Citv into the
loving arms of her savior
the living Lord Jesus
Christ. She suffered great-
ly from Osteoarthritis,
diabetics neuropathy and

married Rodger Jay
Smith, Sr. on Sept. (i. 1971
in Vernon, Texas, Pte

1961, and her sister, Trula.

and Marcus Scott Smith

grandchildren, Brandon

Rotary International.
She was known for her

Jan. 28. 2019 at her home.

Ute Graab was born
on Dec. 31,1942 in
Mannheim, Germany
to Hans-Ludwig and
Luise(Galm) Graab. She
graduated high school
and attended three years
of business school before
marrying a soldier, Alan
Roy McGee, on Dec. 31,
1959, She moved to the
wasa more than 15-year
cancer survivor.
She attended 11 years
public school grades in
Clinton. Oklahoma before
being graduating from
Thomas High School in
1965. She married Gary
Lynn Hall of Clinton
June 19,1966, in the Choir
Room of First Baptist
Church in Clinton. She
attended and was gradu-
ated from Southwestern
Stale with a B.S. in Elo
mentary Education and
Library Science in 1971.

for low income residents
to spay and neuter their
pets and protect their pets
from distemper and par

for shelter animals is to

fact, the Altus Shelter in-
take numbers went from
851 dogs in 2017 to just 645
dogs in 2018 (cat numbers
have not been tracked un-
til 2018).
According to AAWA
President Christi De
twiler, the 2019 program
will be instrumental in
continuing to reduce the
number of unwanted an
Altus Animal Welfare
Association (AAWA) re-
cently received a total of
$52,000 from PetSmart
Charities, the largest
funder of animal welfare
in North America, to help
fuel its spay and neuter
efforts in Jackson County
and surrounding areas.
With the help of the
donation, the organiza-
tion will offer free spay
and neuter services for
dogs and cats owned by
Jackson County resi-
dents as well as Harmon,
Greer and Kiowa coun-
ties through the Altus
Area Spay Neuter In-
centive Program (AAS-
NIP) which transports
pets to Oklahoma City’s
Humane Place Spay and
Neuter Clinic for surgery
one day per month and
also provides vet vouch-
ers at local participating
vet clinics.
AAWA has been an
advocate for Altus Shel-
ter animals since it was
formed in 2016. It has been
a voice for many changes
