Tammy Litzer, publications
supervisor for the Oklahoma De-
partment of Wildlife Conservation
encourages sportsmen to review
the regulations before heading
afield.
“I’d advise every hunter to care-
fully review the regulations be-
cause each year there are some
changes from previous seasons,”
Litzer said. “The regs also are a
handy planning tool that contain
information about season dates,
bag limits and hunting opportuni-
tie. at Department-managed ar-
eas."
There are several important
changes in this year's regulations
including the new license costs that
will take effect January 1, 1995.
License costs effective for 1994 and
1995 are outlined in a table on the
first page of the regulations. New
senior citizen and disability license
requirements, which go in effect
January 1, 1995, are also outlined
in the regulations. Another notable
change in this year's regulations is
the elk hunt at the Wichita Moun-
tains Wildlife Refuge and counties
surrounding the refuge will be
closed.
Regular features in the hunt-
ing regulations include the sun-
rise-sunset table, antlerless deer
hunt zone map, regulations gov-
erning Department-managed
lands and furbearer season regula-
tions.
The 1994-95 Oklahoma Hunt-
ing Regulations are available at
