BUSY TERM OF
COURT TO OPEN
Civil Docket Three Years Be-
hind Schedule Has
1700 Cases
M
Oklahoma Comity's five district
courts tomorrow will begin their
fall-winter hearing of over 1700 civil
cases and more than 100 crimine!
trials
With 77 ventremen surr!r(:2d
Jury duty the first of the s cases
are scheduled for hearing Tuesday
Three criminal cases will be in-
terspersed in the civil docket each
day
Mixing of criminal and civil cases
on the same docket is a new plan to
prevent idleness of Judges and Juries
through continuance of all cases on
the docket
Nothing but routine criminal cases
are scheduled for the first few weeks
A new panel of veniremen will
sere each two weeks during the
"September term" which is sched-
uled to last about three months
There is no hope of getting
through the 1700 civil cases set
down for trial during the term the
courts already bring three years be-
hind schedule

'Master Criminals' Blamed
In Chicago Deposit
Box Robbery
BY tnited Press
CHICAGO Sept 5 — Expert
cracksmen who rifled the vaults of
Koch & CO in a methodical 14-hour
raid were believed today to have
garnered loot of $250000 from the
home owners and small tradesfolk
who secreted money in the deposi-
tory Police blamed the raid on a gang
of master criminals Members of twa
families who were held prisoners
while the looting took place viewed
police department photographs in an
effort to identify the band
Loot Uncertain
Loot of the gang was still uncer-
tain as records of safe deposit box
holders were checked First esti-
mated as high as $1000000 officers
of Koch & Co said they believed
the loss would not exceed $250000
The band gained access to the
vaults from a second-story apart-
ment above The two families oc-
cupying the apaetment were held in-
communicado by the gang while
they went about the systematic op-
eration Cut Through Steel
Entrance to the vault was made by
cutting through the steel wall with
an oxyacetylene torch Boxes were
cut open in the same manner
Most of the losers were workaday
folk who had rented deposit boxes
to safeguard their funds when banks
in the vicinity closed
Officers of Koch & Co said most
of the losses would probably run be-
tween $50 and SI00 though several
individuals were robbed of several
thousand dollars
