OLD SCANDAL AIRED

Move Unexplained
By CURTIS WARD
With the approach of the corn-
Mg election the state supreme court
is suspending the rule and admit-
ting attorneys on motion to prac-
tice law
When six mimbers went off the
old supreme court three yeacs and
four months ago there was a great
scandal over admitting men on
motion to practice law
The court became so lax in the
matter that a former-bootlegger 'Al
IS
admitted in the group passed with-
out examination or in many cases
without any legal preparation
When a majority of the present
court went on the bench three
years and four months ago the
first official act of the reorganized
court was to adopt a rule of "no
admissions on motion"
11q Was Crowing
For three years the court adhered
to the rule with but two excep-
tions But it has been different for the
last four months
