the day's top.
This helped wheat, which was al-
so aided by late export sales to
Brazil, as well as oats. Oats fell
sharply at one time, only to re-
cover by the close. Soybeans, low-
er most of the day, rallied near
the finish. Lard explored new sea-
sonal low territory.
Wheat closed M-% higher, De-
cember $2.38%-, corn 1%-154
higher, December $1.67%-, ots
% lower to % higher, December
86%-%, rye %-1% higher. Decem-
ber $2.03%, soybeans %-1% higher,
November $2.92%-%, and lard 2 to
10 cents a hundred pounds lower,
November $8.35-$8.32.
Fair weather continued over
practically the entire winter wheat
belt, but this was losing part of its
influence as a market factor in
view of the belief that even a sharp
reduction in the winter wheat crop
would not cause any unusual short-
age in the nation's total wheat sup-
ply
The carryover from previous
crops is very large
