establish a home in Del City after February 18. Lt. Muel-
ler will be stationed at Tinker Field. The couple was
married January 28. Mrs. Mueller will be remembered
as Janet Estep, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Estep,
Chickasha.

HAS THE YOUNG IDEAS
District 17 of the O.S.N.A. met
at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grady
Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hazel Kerr,
president, presided over the busi-
ness session. The District voted to
contribute $250 to the Child Guid-
ance and Counseling Center of Grady
County. A report was presented to
the O.S.N.A. members on the in-
surance available by Mrs. ’ Nolan
Wynn, insurance coordinator.
A report was also given by Mrs.
Ernestine Townley on the board
meeting of O.S.N.A. which she at-
tended on Saturday at Oklahoma
City.
Mr. Bruce Monroe, child psycholo-
gist of the Grady County Child
Guidance and Counseling Center,
spoke to the group on the subject
of counseling and testing of child-
ren.

Dibble Senior Wins
Betty Crocker Test
Miss Lawana Mills of Dibble has
recently been awarded the Betty
Crocker "Homemaker of Tomorrow"
title as a school winner. Each year
a test is given to higli school senior
girls, and the girl making the high-
est score wins the honor. The test
is a knowledge and aptitude test
emphasizing attitudes, knowledge
and information, social understand-
ings, and skills needed for satisfy-
ing home and family living.
Miss Mills is now eligible to be
a State and National winner. There
are two state awards.
Member; serving as Secretary of
Chickasha City Panhellenic, and
the one jacket for every man.’.,

Carolyn Keane Hall, 12 Circle
Drive, has received notification that i
she has been selected for listing in
the annual publication, "Outstand-
ing Young Women of America. Mrs.
Hall was nominated for this honor
by Mrs. Jesse R. D’Bar. Jr.. Chick-
asha, recipient of the honor in 1965.

Sophomore — Miss Tanya Moran Dundar of Del City, and Miss Clarie
America is an annual biographicla
compilation sponsored by leaders of
Womens organizations. Basis for
nomination for the honor is the per-
son’s contribution to her commun-
ity’s civic, church and cultural life.
Mrs. Hall is the daughter of Mrs.
Charles C. Keane and the late Mr.
Keane, Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
She received both her bachelor and
masters degrees from Kansas State
University in Manhattan, Kansas.
She taught Zoology Laboratory at
Kansas State and then taught for
two years in the Shawnee Mission
school system.
In 1964. she moved to Chickasha
when her husband Dr. Jim Hall,
opened his Dental Office here. Since
that time she has taught eighth and
ninth grade science at Chickasha
Junior High.
Mrs. Hall was recently selected
Outstanding Young Educator of
Chickasha, by the Chickasha Jay-
cees. She is a member of the Ep-
worth Methodist Church and serves
on the Commission on Education as
Nursery Chairman.

Donald Brown, Oklahoma City, at
7:01 p.m. February 1 at Grady
Memorial Hospital. She weighed
eight pounds. Mrs. Brown is the
former Miss Patsy Sevier, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jodie Sevier.
A girl was born to Mr. and Mrs.
John Mathews, 820 North 9 at 12:05
p.m. February 3 at Grady Memor-
ial Hospital. She weighed 12 pounds,
one ounce.
A girl was bom to Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Wenzel, 902 South 16th, at
2:08 p.m. February 3 at Grady Me-
morial Hospital. She weighed sev-
en pounds, one ounce.
A girl was born to Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Sylvester, Cyril, at 4:47 p.m.
February 3 at Grady Memorial
Hospital. She weighed seven pounds,
nine ounces.
A girl was born to Mr. and Mrs.
James Osborn, Minco, at 7:47 p.m.

13 Students In Finals For OGLA Press Club Award
The 1967 Oklahoma College of
Liberal Arts Press Club dinner
rings with the number 13.
This not only is the 13th annual
dinner, but it will be held Monday
night, Feb. 13.
Then, to add to this, 13 students
are in the finals for the annual Press
Club awards voted by the faculty.
Sophomore, junior and senior
classes have three finalists each,
but when faculty nominated for the
freshman award, two students tied
for third, which meant this class
has four nominees, and the total
number of nominees is 13.
Nominees for the 1967 Press Club
awards, with one going to the out-
standing student in each class, are:
Freshman — Martin Tittle of Wi-
chita Falls; Miss Eugene Cagle of
Altus; Miss Mary Noeller of Perrys-
burg, N. Y.; and Miss Sammye
Evans of Chickasha.

A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Jordan. Rush Springs, at 8:42
a.m. February 6 at Grady Memor-
ial Hospital. He weighed eight
pounds, five ounces.
A girl was born to Dr. and Mrs.
Edward L. Schenk, 208 Sunnylane
Drive, at 3:55 a.m. February 7 at
Grady Memorial Hospital. She
weighed six pounds, 4% ounces.
Teachers Association.
High school juniors and seniors
from over the state were eligible
to compete.
Miss Richardson next will parti-
cipate in a six-state contest to be
he'd April 15 in St. Louis.
Winner of the St. Louis competi-
tion then will qualify to compete in
the national high school auditions
of the Music Teachers National As-
sociation to be held during the
MTNA national convention April 17-
21 in St. Louis.
Laires will be one of four judges
from colleges and universities
throughout the nation who will judge
the national competition.
Miss Richardson for a number of
years has been a regular student of
Mrs. Mary Helen Wade, a private
piano teacher in Duncan and gradu-
ate of OCLA. She has attended each
of the Piano Master Classes Laires
has conducted on OCLA campus.
The master classes arc held each
June. She has also studied with
Laires, privately, for five years, on
a coaching basis.
Miss Richardson plans to enroll
at OCLA as a freshman this sum-
mer.
The Duncan student was winner
of the Wichita Falls Symphony con-

The Sixth District Veterans of
World War I and their Auxiliaries
held a meeting at the American le-
gion Hut in Duncan, Sunday, Janu-
ary 5, with nearly 200 attending.
The meeting was started by the
Sixth District Commander George B.
Lutz, after a welcome address was
given by the Vice Mayor of Dun-
can. Response to welcome was made
by Oscar Morgan, Anadarko, and
a few introductions by the Ladies
Auxiliary. I
The joint session was adjourned
and they had their separate meet-
ings.
Refreshments were served at the
close.
Those attending from Chickasha
were Mr. and Mrs. Roy S. Garrett,
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Reagan, Mr.
and Mrs. Ed S. Correia, Mr. and
Mrs. Roye E.W inter, Mrs, Glen
Baxter, Mrs. Lee F. Rhea, Mrs.
W. A. Anderson.
The next district meeting will
be in Chickasha. Date to the an-
nounced later in May.
