Julia attended the LaCross School as a child, and
on December 31. 1946 she and Kenneth Ray Dud-
ley were married in Chickasha. She lived in many
places as she followed her husband s work in the
oilfield. In 1967 she returned to Oklahoma after the
death of her husband. In 1981 she moved to Chick-
asha. Julia attended the Chickasha Church of the
Nazarene.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband. Ken-
neth Ray Dudley; daughter Wilma Lois Gabbert;
sisters Lottie Houts. Martha Whitley. Ethel Cox;
and brother Garret Handke.
Survivors include sister: Leona Dudley of Garden
City; brother & wife: Joe and Earlene Handke ol
Mangum. Daughter: Karen Emberton of Chickasha;
Daughter & companion: Norma Haney & Ric Han-
kins of Cemen; Daughter & husband: Loretta &
Moris Pound of Ralston; Son & Wife: Kenneth &
Wilma Dudley of Chickasha; Numerous Grandchil-
dren. Great-Grandchildren, & other family
Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery
in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Services are under the
direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Daniel Philip Newsom was born Dec. 3, 1962 in
Chickasha. He was the son of Clarence and Willie
Mae (Zurline) Newsom He died Sunday, Feb. 12.
2012 in Oklahoma City.
Daniel lived in Chickasha before moving to West
Virginia. In 1973. He moved to Duncan and later to
Edmond.
His father Clarence. step-father Bill Sandwell,
step-brother Mike Sandwell and his grandparents
all preceded him in death
Survivors include: His mother: Willie Sandwell
of Edmond; sisters: Nancy Fullhart ol Enid. Pat
Bynum and husband Alton of Burkburnett. Tx.
Susie Aderhold and husband Doug of Edmond;
brother: John Newsom and wife Sharon of Piqua.
Ohio; step-sister: Patti Cerutti and husband Nat of
Georgia; nine nephews, five nieces and several
great nieces and nephews
interment will be in the Holy Name Section of
Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha under the direc-
tion of Sevier Funeral Home ol Chickasha.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy
Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

4H Club work. She graduated
from Miami High School,
Northwestern Oklahoma Jr.
College and Oklahoma State University. She died
Saturday, Feb. 11. 2012 in ( hickasha.
She taught at Crooked Oak School, Oklahoma
City and Luther Oklahoma. She then became Super-
visor for Farmer's Home Administration in Okfus-
kee County in Okemah. She then began working as
the Home Demonstration Agent for Wagoner Coun-
ty. Later she became Associate Foods and Nutrition
Specialist for Cooperation Extension at Oklahoma
State University where she traveled throughout
Oklahoma.
During this time she belonged to the Oklahoma
Teachers Association. Business and Professional
Womens Association, Beta Sigma Phi, American
Home Economics Association, County and Slate
Nutrition Association, a Modern Book ( lub, a
Flower Club and a Federated Study Club.
On July 23, 1955 she married Cyril Novotny in
Stillwater and moved north ol Chickasha. In 1961 as
a volunteer she organized and operated The ( ere-
bral Palsy Day Care Center" in Chickasha for nine-
teen years for the handicapped children who had no
other program. This included a total of 29 children.
She also assisted the Oklahoma Knights of Colum-
bus in Constructing "The Center of Family Love in
Okarche for disabled adults. She served on their
Board of Trustees for 13 years and still belonged to
their Parent Guardian Organization
She became active in Family Community Educa-
tion when moving here serving on many committees
and holding many group and county offices over the
years. She has received nine state awards tor hei
