crushed its competition last week
with its largest summertime
audience in four years, thanks to
the Emmy Awards, the return of
"Monday Night Football" and
"Who Wants to Be a Million-

The network had the six most-
watched programs in prime-
time, Nielsen Media Research
said Tuesday.
Although the Emmys proved
a triumph for NBC shows like
"The West Wing" and "Will &
Grace," the ceremony brought
more than 21 million viewers to
ABC. It was the award show's
biggest audience since at least
1986, when Nielsen began using
people meters for more accurate
measurements.
Despite critical razzing, "Big
Brother" on Wednesday was
CBS' most-watched program of
the week. That was the night the
six remaining contestants each
turned down $50,000 to leave the
house.
NBC's low-key summer has
