WRIGHT CITY - A "shoot-out" by the Choc-
taw Nation Gunfighters, tug of war between
several chambers of commerce and free bar-
becue sandwiches were enjoyed by about 1,500
people attending the first Wright City Lumber-
jax Festival Saturday.
Festival supporters plan to host the event
annually to call attention to the area's lumber
industry.
School officials quit
WAGONER — The failure of two bond issues
in the last 18 months prompted Wagoner's su-
perintendent and two school board members
to resign last week.
Superintendent Mike Fry, board president
Gerald Sherman and member Murray Engle
cited lack of public support for the schools as
reasons for resigning. Wagoner voters turned
down a bond issue May 17 that would have
paid for bus system improvements.

skills were peculiarly es-
sential in the perform-
ance of the duties as-
signed personal aides,
social aides, or ushers,"
the report said.
The use of military
personnel as social aides
for inaugural balls was
also inconsistent with
Pentagon rules, the GAO
report said.
"Unlike the inaugural
parade, an inaugural
ball is not generally
available to the commu-
nity" and is usually lim-
ited to invited guests
who pay high prices for
tickets, the report said.
Proxmire charged
that the Reagan ad-
ministration "came to
office riding a campaign
of national frugality”
only to "commandeer
military personnel at a
cost of $1.8 million to
the taxpayers."
The inaugural com-
mittee should reimburse
the Pentagon for the ex-
penses it incurred, Prox-
mire said. "After all,
