for rapist urged
An Oklahoma County jury has recommended a
sentence of 250 years in prison for Stacey Lamont
Edwards, who was found guilty of first-degree
rape and robbery in the sexual assault last August
of a 28-year-old Midwest City woman.
The jury deliberated about 70 minutes Wednes-
day before recommending 150 years in prison on
the rape count and 100 years on the robbery
count.
Assistant district attorney John Kelson had
asked the jury for a 300-year sentence on both
counts.
Edwards earlier had been sentenced to 365
years in prison on two kidnapping counts and a
charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in
connection with a series of abductions in which
the victims were taken to Oklahoma City's Lake
Draper.
Formal sentencing will be next Thursday
