Senator Bartlett’s record of academic excellence, business acomplish-
ments, legislative leadership, and political foresight make him the ONLY
candidate qualified to face the serious problems that will confront Oklahoma
during the next four years. A candidate of Senator Bartlett’s proven ability
is a true rarity in Oklahoma politics. It is for these reasons that HE MUST BE
ELECTED GOVERNOR.
Our next governor will serve during the most critical years in the history
of our state. It is vitally important that the man who is elected be the most
qualified candidate for the office. ONE, and only ONE candidate meets this
requirement. It is for the purpose of electing that ONE candidate, that the
following students have joined together.

An Open Letter of Importance
to
W ithin the coming week, our group will make known to undecided and
uninformed voters the qualifications of Senator Bartlett. The most critical
bloc of these voters lies within 30 miles of Norman. These people must be
contacted and informed. We urge you to join in effective political ac-
tivity which will result in Senator Bartlett’s election. This work will consist of
group activity in the critical precincts of Norman, Moore, and Oklahoma City.
W hatever time you can give to this project will be of great assistance in elect-
ing Senator Bartlett. W on't you please join with us!
We promise you nothing but a chance to function. Your future in Okla-
homa will be determined November 8. Recent polls indicate the coming gu-
bernatorial election will be decided by voters who are presently either un-
decided or uninformed. This election is far too important to be determined by
an electorate in this condition.
The signers of this letter represent many different political views,
are composed of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. We differ in our
choice of candidates for other offices on the National, State, and Local level.
However, WE ARE UNITED IN SUPPORTING SENATOR DEWEY
BARTLETT FOR GOVERNOR. UNDENIABLY, HE IS THE SUPERIOR
CANDIDATE.
