search committee chairman said
Sunday.
About 25 candidates have ap-
plied so far and a national search
with an active advertising cam-
paign is underway, Chairman
Paul Sharp, OU Regents educa-
tion professor said.
Former Vice President David
Burr died Aug. 6. Since that time,
Donna Murphy, assistant vice
president of OU Media Services,
has been serving the position in
an interim capacity.
Although the search committee
does not have a special prefer-
ence for OU candidates, Sharp
said he hopes university employ-
ees will apply for the position.
The committee has placed ad-
vertisements in 10 professional
journals. Sharp said. Review of
applications will begin Feb. 15.
However, applications will be ac-
cepted until the position is filled. \
