State constitution travels
to arch enemy for repairs
The 92-year old Oklahoma
Constitution is currently undergoing
restoration at the Harry Ransom
Humanities Research Center at the
University of Texas, said Mike Hunter,
Oklahoma Secretary of State.
The center will recommend proce-
dures to keep the document from
deteriorating and to permanently dis-
play the Constitution at the State
Capitol in Oklahoma City.
The center recently released a
report stating the condition of the doc-
ument and the process necessary for
its permanent display The document
is being kept in an archive quality rare
book box at the center.
