from the report of Pres Angell to
the Board of Regents of Michigan
University
Certainly be says one cannot be
blind to the fact that at present
the aggregate number of women
nearly all pursuing the courses in
arts is so rapidly increasing that
the-question is suggested whether
the old fashioned liberal training
is largely to be mopolized by them
The men Dr Angell declars
are being driven into the technical
and professional schools while the
women as a rule devote their atten-
tion to the college of arts In the
university last year there were 716
women students against 694 for
the year previons 111 attendad
the sessions of nhe summer school
Miss Blanch Morgan who gradu-
ated from the School of Music in
05 was writing her name on some
cards last week in this manner

noticed one of the cards and said
Miss Morgan there is no use of
you putting your initials behind
your name in that manner Any
one can see by looking at the name

Two new dormatories have just
been completed at Columbia Uni-
versity While right in the heart
of a large city where accomaodations
can easily be found Columbia has
the best dormatory systeil of any
of the larger colleges
Chester Reeds writes that he is
well pleased with his surroundings
at New Haven He has a plesant
room in Divinity Hall one of the
large dormitories and expects to
come home full of the spirit of a
large college
Trinity College canceled the
game they were to play with Vale
tomorrow This throws the open-
ing of the season for Vale back un-
til Wednesday
The excavation for Dr Boyd's
new house has just been started
Pres Boyd expects ta be settled
about commencement next year
The pharmic and Medics will
meet in Science Hall Saturday
evening to organize a Literary
