Is Decided
All Aboard! The UAB train to
Aspen Cola Is leaving January
21 for a week of skiing and ac-
tivities all for the price of $4850
Mary Behnke Tulsa chairman of
the trip said the cost has only
recently been decided and covers
hotel exiienses and round trip
transportation
Miss Behnke said the Sante Fe
special will leave Norman at 5:28
m Friday January 21 after all

trip will be in Wichita Kan and
from there skliers will journey to
Denver Arriving in the capital
city on Sunday January 22 the
group will change to a scenic char-
tered bus for the jaunt to Aspen
The return trip will travel the
same route and will be back in
Norman on January 28
Discounts Expected
Not included In the payment for
the trip will be the cost of ski
poles lioots and skis at $150 per
day ski lessons at $5 per day the
ski tow at 25 cents per ride and
the chair lift at S3 per ride How-
ever Miss Behnke said the UAB
is now working on arrangements
to get discounts on the ski tow
ski lessons and the chair lift
Those wishing to go to Aspen
should make a payment on or be-
fore December 13-15 and room'
mate preferences and room assign-
ments will be arranged at that
time
This year for the first time box
lunches from the Union will be
available to students to take on the
train Also students may pur
chase insurance both personal and
baggage
Reservations Underway
Ski clothes can be purchased at
Aspen where there is a wide price
and selection range more so than
in this part of the country Army
surplus clothes are quite popular
Miss Behnke said including heavy
sweaters and waterproof slacks
Skis and equipment can be taken
on the train or rented there
Signups for the trip are now be-
ing taken in the UAB office When
payments are accepted it will be
on a first come first served basis
so the flrst 100 persons who sign
up will receive preference

In a 200-minute meeting Thursday evening the student
senate elected Jim Johnson Broken Bow president and rec-
ommended to die faculty senate that the Christmas vacation
begin two days earlier than currently scheduled
Senator Doug Matthews arts and$-

which provides that the student
senate requests the faculty senate
vote to begin the Christmas vaca-
tion 10 pm Tuesday December 20
rather than 10 pmt Thursday De-
cember 22 as now on the University
calendar

The measure is a recommenda-
tion to the faculty senate and does
not provide for the holiday The
student senate still has one of two
annual holidays to grant but under
the provisions of the resolution the
two requested holidays would not
including the remaining one

homa City director listed the staff
for 'this year’s production Thurs-
day About 30 acts have already
turned in entry blanks Hirschfield
said and several more have indi-
cated that they plan to participate
"We hope to have a total of 50
acts for the tryouts" Hirschfield
said He again emphasized the need
for individual and small group
acts and urged more students to
consider entering these classifica-

ity that the Scandals will he pre-
sented in Oklahoma City “excel-
