Law Wives Ready All-School Dance
To Raise Lounge Face-Lifting Funds
The annual law wives dance will
he held in the Lockett ballroom
Friday An all-school dance the
tickets will he on sale in the law-
building lobby beginning Wednes-
day Nancy Norwood president of the
law wives club said proceed front
the dance will buy furniture for
the law building lounge The funds
are usually used for scholarships
but the club has enough money
from last year to furnish the usu-
al scholarships and so will le able
to do aditional work this year
Additional funds w ill Is- raised
to give the lounge a face-lifting
It is used by the legal fraternities
to house their offices ami for in-

Miss Hickey pointed out the Im-
ixuiance of showing confidence in
other ieople's ability “People must
do things for others if there is to
be a world peace" she stated "We
can alter the course of the world
with our words"
"You will need courage to meet
failure and humility when success
comes " she continued She said
that we must renew our spiritual
strength during that time of quiet
waiting and then learn to "mount
on wings of eagles" to greater ac-
complishments She told the women about the
times when the best efforts will
not be enough "You must come
back to run and not be weary to
walk and not faint” she concluded
Journalism Award Given
Ethel Marie Triplett Buffalo
Okla is the only freshman girl to
hold a journalism scholarship
Miss Triplett recently won the
Southwest Jewish Chronicle S150
award for entering freshmen This
is a non-sectarian award presented
by the Oklahoma City pajter
Miss Triplett was an editor of her
high school yearbook and news'
paper She also won her county
American Legion sieech contest
In high school she had a 11) aver-
age and was a member of the 4-1!
club and the girls glee club
