William Giles proves a
person is never too old to
embark on a big, new ad-
venture.
Giles, who will be 90
years old in July, will
leave Monday on a fast-
paced 18-day visit to the
Holy Land, the fulfillment
of a long-time dream.
Sponsoring the study
tour is Midwest Christian
College, NE 63 and Kelley,
where Giles' son-in-law,
Howard K. Davis, is presi-
dent.
Giles said he has been
wanting to travel to the
Holy Land ever since Mr.
and Mrs. Davis, former
missionaries to Japan,
made an around-the-world
trip 10 years ago.
"I've wanted to go, but I
kept putting it off," said
Giles, who lives with an-
other daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Pickens, 2629 NW 25.
"He has never made a
long trip before, and he
has never been across the
ocean before," said Mrs.
Davis, who added her fa-
ther's health is "very
