the federal crop Insurance office
WJatOM owes the government a total
of $5,543.56 tn premium* on the in-

Shelton has adopted the policy of

asks him to remit a certified check
' payable to the United States treas-
ury tor the amount of the claim.
Costs Are Added
"Moet of these farmers when their
attention is called to the fact that
they have not paid their premium*
readily communicate with this office
and either dispute the amount the )
government claims or send in their
chock*." Shelton said.
He pointed out Friday when the
government' has to file the suit the
trials usually are short and the
farmer finally realises he ha* not
only to pay the amount of the
premium with interest at 6 percent
but also has court costs to pay. This
week Shelton filed five suits to col-
lect these premium* after the farm-
ers had refused to acknowledge let-
ters requesting payment.

Aluminum Probe Seen
As Danger to Nation
’ j HEW YORK. April 22—(Ah—One of
tne nation* top wartime generals said)
m‘ federal court Thursday that an
anti-triiM crackdown on the Alum-
inum Co. of America might prove
"di utrous” If an emergency arose.
Brehon B. Somervell testified if the
-government broke up ALCOA * hold-
ings it would affect the firm’s effi-
■rtenev "very seriously" in the event of
a military emergency. In such an
emergency, he added, any reduction
-in efficiency of ALCOA would be
"disastrous."
The department of justice is seeking

told 250 assembled Democrats who
bad paid 33 a plate to attend.
The second district <—--------
