Joe Mercer, supervisor of the service building explained that one full time employee, O. T. East looks after the plantings throughout the year, but that extra help is given him when it is needed. Careful pruning ans an eye for artisty have the climbers practically the same height and clining to the fence at similar angles. It adds the felling of symmetry to the overall picture. The rose planting and their blossoms which have been the talk of the city this past week were set out in 1951. Later more ground directly south of the present location will be added to the 11 acres and fenced. Of course, more Paul's scarlet roses will be planted for adorning the new addition. It is difficult to visualize plantings being any prettier than they are this year, but with many more blooms and more color they are certain to be.
