Heavy Local Vote
Cast Over County
In General Election
Tho people havo apokon and by thair ballot they hava
indicated a preference tor a democratic reign in the nations
White House in the senate and houe# and in all local Crank
county offices.
The Gallup poll aa wall as others miseed in Iheu endeavor
to mislead the voters m an attempt to obtain a republican
administration. Likewise the great ptess of Tulsa and Oklahoma
City was wrong and the best guide oi a political battle in
this state is to bet on the ieRow who these big newspapers
are lighting. They deem it necessary to consistently be on tho
losing side.
Creek county scored an unanimous victory lor all democratic
candidates in the court house and likewise went down the
line for state and national candidates.
W. B. Key. democrat and incumbent tor county clerk, led
the local ticket in gamering a total oi 9.627 votes over his
opponent Maudie Weaver's 4.727.
Lee Smaor. court clerk, was next in line, polling 9.397 votes
to his opponent. C. K. Wagner, who polled 4.933. Wagn«r
was a mighty good sport in losing the race and Wednesday
morning ha had conissaed to the Baptists and to several demo-
crats gathered about the caie's code# club, that since he could
not beat the democrats he would like to loin them—incident-
ally. he was wearing a button Tn A Democrat.' Wednesday
morning -a triend. jokingly placed it on his lapel and he per-
mitted it to remain lor some time.
In one oi the more interesting races. Mrs. M. L. Murphy,
dsmocrat. won a decisive victory over Mrs. Hallie Peters (or
county superintendent. Incidentally aha not only had to beat
her opponent, but had to deieat Bimey D. Herrin, present
superintendent, for it was evident he was supporting Mrs.
Peters.
4->t Herrin will nerve until July 1. and adter that time plans to
practice law Mrs. Murphy triumphed by tallying 9.206 votes

victory m the local sheriff's race.
