Sapulpa arrested a local woman on public intoxication and possession
of prescription pills after officers were dispatched to the Walmart on
West Taft on complaints of a possibly intoxicated woman around noon
on Sunday, October 4.
Police found a prescription pill bottle with a large menagerie of dif-
ferent pills.
Records showed Diana Lynn Camp. 49, is facing formal charges for
possession of controlled dangerous substance and public intoxication.
City reports showed Sapulpa Patrolman Brandon Larson was dis-
patched to the Walmart on West Taft at 10:40 a.m. on a possible intoxi-
cated female. Dispatch advised Larson the female was in blue jeans and
a black shirt and was last seen near the Garden Center of the store.
Larson arrived on scene and discovered a female matching he
description outside the west doors. Larson stated the female subject,
later identified as Camp, was exhibiting some of the tell-tale signs of
being under the influence of methamphetamine. Larson said Camp was
not able to stand still, had over exaggerated body movements, jerked
uncontrollable and was unsteady on her feet.

LARRY JOHNSON accused of stabbing
firefighter rendering emergency care
BY JOHN BROCK
HERALD MANAGING EDITOR
A bizarre knife attack upon a young Sapulpa firefighter attempting to
render first aid to a male victim in medical distress, occurred on the
Wednesday morning of May 20th, 2015 at a Sapulpa home located at 114
North Mounds (just north of Hobson Avenue).
Yesterday afternoon Wednesday October 7,2015 during a hearing in the
courtroom of Judge Lester Henderson the court found that probable cause
existed to continue the criminal prosecution of Larry Darnell Johnson.
T find that the state has met the burden of proof of probable cause that
a crime was committed. (You) are bound over for district court for plea or
trial on November 17 at 10 a.m. before Judge Golden,” Henderson ruled.
Johnson is accused of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for
piercing firefighter Fleak with a steel blade.
Additionally Johnson is facing a malicious injury to property charge a
misdemeanor as the value of the items alleged to have been destroyed was
less than $2,500. Johnson was alleged to have used a hatchet to chop up an
ex spouse's property and a 2012 matter of no proof of insurance or opera-
tor's license while driving.
Medical first responders had been called last May to a residence to ren-
der first aid to a middle aged black male with the reported symptoms of
heaving, having difficulty breathing and possibly suffering from cardiac
arrest.
Two Creek County Ambulance personnel and three Sapulpa firemen
responded to the medical cal! and were in the process of inititating medical
care, attaching the black male patient exhibiing symptoms of physical dis-
tress to medical monitoring devices.
As the first responders were attending to the patient, the man without
warning allegedly reached into his pocket and pulled out a steak knife,
swung the blade and stabbed Sapulpa Fireman Paden Fleak, 23, of
Firestation 2, puncturing him in the left shoulder area.
Fleak sustained additional injuries fleeing from the attacker after trip-
ping and falling as he put distance between himself and the alleged attack-
er.
Four other first responders close by were not injured in the attack that
occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. and several of these persons were
present at the courthouse Wednesday. The group of the CCA employees
stated one and all that they would if called as witnesses in future, tell what
they saw and experienced on May 20th under oath.
Emergency 911 calls were made to police immediately after the stab-
bing attack the calls were received by law enforcement dispatch at 9:39
a.m. Wednesday.
Johnson, was restrained after the attack and placed into a Creek County
Ambulance for transport to St. Francis Hospital Tulsa in order to receive
care for the original medical concerns.
Neighbors that day reported to the Herald that Johnson had been outside
the home, on the porch dry heaving and possibly undergoing seizures. One
neighbor indicated that she strongly suspected the man might have been
under the influence of narcotics, possibly PCP.
Sapulpa Police from the site of the attack indicated there was some
familiarity with the suspect, and that the man’s family had told officers that
Johnson had a history of mental illness issues.
Paden Fleak has made a full physical recovery from the stabbing attack
and resumed his duties as a firefighter just days after the incident.
City police reports indicate that Patrolman Jason Hedges was dispatched
to the 1(H) block of North Mounds on May 20th after receiving a call from
the Sapulpa Fire Department reporting that a firefighter was .tabbed.
Hedges arrived on the scene at 9:51 a.m. and observed suspect Johnson
standing near the edge of Mounds Street still holding a knife in hand.
Hedges and Officer Tyler Brogdon approached Johnson and ordered the
suspect to drop the knife and lay prone on the ground.
