Commissioners
Huddleston, attorney at law, told the board.
Showing the commissioners a visual aid map
he continued.
“As you can see it is an ancient roadbed.
Have researched it but can t come up with how
old exactly it is. Her property is landlocked.
This would benefit her and another property to
the east owned by the boy scouts. The scouts
have to hike in order to reach their property. She
intends to build a home here.” the lawyer said.
"Has she talked to the neighbors ’" Burke
asked.
“Everyone she has talked too, all but one has
no objection." Huddleston answered.
"If this goes through it will be a public road
and anyone can drive on it. The county will not
be responsible for maintenance." Burke told the
lawyer.
“The cost to her will be around YI5.IKH) to
build the road atop the old road bed a subvUin
tial savings to her," Huddleston added.
Commissioners agreed to hold a public hear-
ing on the matter within 90-days setting the
matter for public discourse come Aug. 29.2011.
Commissioner’s discussed and then decided
to close a section line roadway in Dist. No. 3
Commissioner Danny Ganns territory. I be
road is located between Section 2. TI5N. R9E
and Section 35. TI6N. RKF at the request of
Mike Jones and the Kelly Brothers
“The bridge there is now closed. We want to
close the road to stop the drug dealing and trash
dumping going on out there. I have spoken to
both parties (landowners) and they are in full
agreement." Commissioner Gann said of the
closing.
“Send a written notification to both of them
and that way we have a record of it." Burke stat-
ed.
Commissioners approved the sending ot

notification to the landowning parties, ot the
potential section line road closure.
The BCK’C also discussed and took action on
a request from the Quapaw Company (rock
quarry) on crossing and maintaining a county
road at between Section 14 and 23.TI8N, R7L.
"We are putting this matter on the agenda for
tracking purposes. To continue mining at the
rock quarry they are crossing 91st Street. They
are responsible for (stop) signs for their traffic.
They are moving northward," Burke said.
The quarry is east of Drumright and com-
missioners approved the matter giv ing responsi-
bilitv to the Quapaw firm for maintaining the
road crossing and signage.
In other matters before the BOCC
The Creek County Assessor's OH ice asked
for and was granted a change in Receiving
Officer. Virginia Shields was approved for the
post by the BOCC replacing Tonya Lee. Becky
Simmons is the Assessors other Receiving
Officer and her position remained unchanged.
Jail Supervisor Kelly Birch made an appear-
ance before the hoard Monday on the subject of
donating outmoded electronics.
“1 am here on behalf of Sgt. Redtem. We
have computers that have been at the jail since
we opened. They were to be donated to Modem
Day Computers, but we have been informed
they cannot take them as they are full up in their
warehouse. We can dispose of them in the
dumpster, hut we would like to find another
source to donate them to. Give us a week to
work on this We would rather help someone
out in the public with these." Birch told the
board.
Commissioners agreed to table the donate or
dump question for a week to re-visit the matter.
ing compliance with the
Oklahoma Administrative
Code 252:631. “Public Water
Supply Operation.”
“We are in compliance and
the consent order is closed,
which is good news." said Tom
DeArman, City Manager of
Sapulpa.
The state has a standard on
Trihalomethanes (THMs). At
the end of the first quarter of
2011. the running average of
the THM was 0.074 mil-
ligrams per liter compared to a
MCL of 0.080, annual average
of Haloacetic Acids (HAA5)
w'as 0.025 milligrams per liter
instead of 0.060. and the annu-
al average removal ratio for
TOC was 1.15 compared to the
treatment technique require-
ment of a minimum of LOO.
Thus, achieving compliance.
THMs are created when the
chlorine interacts with organic
material. Total Organic Carbon
analyzers are now being used
as a precursor to the formation
of these THMs. The chemical
control systems were also
updated to better treat the
water, as well as evaluating
and cleaning the water clari-
fiers system at the water treat-
ment plant.
"We started pulling more
samples for our own benefit lo
keep the water where it needs
to be." said Robert Pettit.
Water Treatment Supervisor.
"We have got it running to its
peak performance."
According to Pettit, the city
of Sapulpa was out of compli-
ance for about 3 years, hut
started its turn around at the
end of 2008.
"We pull samples every
week now." Pettit said.
The water treatment plant
has been performing routine
checks on their clarifier chem-
ical systems to maintain com-
pliance with the stale.
