best known men in Woods county
No populist or democrat thought
of coming out for the office of
probate judge, for they all felt
that the Judge had his eye on
that office and they had too much
respect for his gray beard to
think of taking it from him. He
will have a walk away.
A. E.Allen of Ingersoll is going
after the nomination of commis-
sioner for the second district with
the energy and push that charac-
terizes him in anything that he
undertakes. He has always been
an earnest worker for his party,
and if he secures this office, will
work just as industriously for the
taxpayer.
A. McTaggart, of Belle town-
ahip, called on the Record con-
vention day last week. He has an-
nounced himself as a candidate
for representative of the 15th dis-
trict subject to the decision of
the primary election September 6.
Mr. McTaggart was one of the
original boosters of the primary
election system in this county.
Ballots and other election sup-
plies with full instructions how
to conduct a primary election will
be sent out to the various pre-
cincts this week by the campaign
committee. Instead of the heavy
ballot boxes used at the general
election it is recommended that
shoe boxes or other boxes of light
material, such as can be procured
anywhere without expense, be
used.
