Fred Derwood Greeson
Fred Derwood Greeson.
76. of Sapulpa. passed away
Thursday. June 30. 2005 at
his home surrounded by his
loving family.
Derwood was bom Oct.
11, 1928 to Lillie and Fred
■'Pappy’' Greeson. He was a
lifelong Sapulpan and gradu-
ated from Sapulpa High
School in 1946. Derwood
and his father operated the
Tasty Pastry Bakery in
Sapulpa from 1946 to 1969.
In 1950. Derwood married
Norma Lee Stanley and
together they shared 55 won-
derful years of marriage and
raised four loving children.
In 1975. Derwood and
Norma opened the Greeson’s
Donut Shop in Sapulpa
which they operated with
their daughter Toni until
1982.
Derwood is survived by
his wife Norma; children
Fred D. Greeson Jr. and wife
Gayle. Kay Austin and hus-
band Phil. Nancy Wise and
husband Dean, and Toni
Henderson and husband
Rick, all of Sapulpa; 11
grandchildren Angie Anglin.
Dr. Robin Cox. Tori
Whitecotton. Curtis Austin.
Mathew Austin. Gavin
Greeson. Wendy Leep,
Carrie Greeson. Mark
Henderson. Jeremy Wise and
Leah Wise; and five great-
grandchildren Colton. Dru
and Haley Anglin. Lauren
Cox and Piper W hitecotton.
Derwood was a member
of Sacred Heart Catholic
Church. Sapulpa.
Mass of Christian burial
will be 3 p in Tuesday. July
5. 2005 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church. 1777 E.

Albert Lee Mefford went
to meet Jesus. Thursday.
June 30. 2005. He was born
April 3. 1929 in Tulsa to
T.S. “Sid’' and Docia
Mefford.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, his brother
Ralph and his son Patrick
Albert attended schools
in Chicago and Bowlegs.
Oklahoma and graduated
from high school in Kiefer
where he lettered in football
in 1947. He also attended
the Oklahoma School of
Business and took classed at
TJC after retiring. He served
in the U.S. Air Force during
the Korean War as a Tech
Sergeant and electrical sys-
tems jet instructor.
Albert married Betty
Jean Lee. Oct. 19. 1950.
while in the Air Force and
settled in Sapulpa after
being discharged. He owned
and operated Mefford's
Phillips 66 on Dewey in the
50’s and later learned to be a
machinist. He retired from
American Airlines as a jour-
neyman machinist and crew
chief.
After retiring, he and
Betty worked CCD classes
as volunteers in English and
Spanish at Sacred Heart
Church in Sapulpa.
He also owned and oper-
ated his own machine shop
in Sapulpa where he manu-
factured precision parts for
everything from helicopters
to race cars to bear bows

ment would conduct several
safety checkpoints this week-
end in search of intoxicated
motorist.
He said with the hot days
of summer some may
overindulge and their ability
to safely operate a motor
vehicle would be impaired.
The traffic safety checks
and (he overtime logged by
police officers are funded by
grants front the Oklahoma
Highway Safety Office.
The state office has issued
a special alert for police offi-
cers and Oklahoma Highway
Patrol troopers to seek out
intoxicated motorists over the
Independence Day weekend.
An OHSO spokesperson
said the number of alcohol
related accidents increase sig-
nificantly during the l(M) days
of summer from Memorial
Day to Labor Day.
The National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration
said this is a grim season for
law enforcement, emergency
medical staff, highway safety
officials and friends and fam-
ilies of impaired driving vic-

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND
ADDING GENERAL AND SPECIF-
IC PENALTIES TO THE ORDI-
NANCES OF THE TOWN OF KIE-
FER. CREEK COUNTY. STATE
OF OKLAHOMA ACCORDING TO
SAID CODIFICATION
Now on this 21 sl day of June, 2005
at the Regular monthly meeting of
said Board of Trustees after proper
notice and posting thereof there
came on for discussion and vote
the consideration ot modification lo
the fine and bond schedule of the
Town of Kiefer
After due consideration the Board
of Trustees pursuant to statute and
ordinance determined that the fol-
lowing changes should be made to
fine and bond schedule of said
Township
IT IS THEREFORE ORDAINED
ARTICLE 3, PENALTY, SECTION
11-40, BEING THE GENERAL
PENALTY PROVISION OF THE
KIEFER TOWN CODE, IN PARI
11. MUNICIPAL COURT IS HERE-
BY AMENDED AS FOLLOWS
Section 11 -40: Penalty
Legals
A. If the Judge of the Municipal
Court of the Town ot Kiefer, Okla-
homa is a licensed attorney, then
whenever In this Code, in any ordi-
nance of the Township, where any
ordinance is violated, or where any
rule or regulation covers an act
whether that act is required to be
done or is prohibited, then the pen-
alty tor such a violation is declared
to be a misdemeanor, and where
no specific penalty is assessed,
then such a violation shall be sub-
ject to punishment by a fine not to
exceed two hundred dollars
($200 00), excluding court costs
and lawful assessments It a penal-
ty is limited by state law, then such
violation shall not be punishable by
the maximum amount permitted by
state law or by municipal ordi-
nance. whichever is greater
B. The suspension or revocation of
any license, certificate, or other
privilege conferred by the town
shall not be regarded as a penalty
tor the purposes ot this Code but
shall be In addition thereto
C. Maximum punishment tor cer-
tain offenses specified hereafter Is
a maximum fine ot $750 00 and/or
incarceration of up to 60 days In

Upon the advise ot counsel, an
Emergency Clause was additional-
ly discussed as being necessary to
the welfare of the citizens of and
the community of Kiefer and after
proper separate vote was addition-
ally passed to enable the Ordi-
nance in question to go into effect
immediately upon publication

losses.
OHSO reported the aver-
age ol a single alcohol-related
fatality in Oklahoma costs an
average of S3.2 million.
Broken down, the costs
include SI million in mone-
tary costs and S2.2 million in
quality of life losses.
The agency said the esti
mated cost per injured sur-
vivor of an alcohol-related
crash averaged $90,000.
