MOUNDS — Elmo and Lynn
Burke of Mounds announce the birth
of their son, Elmo Myers IV.
The baby was bom Nov. 25 at Bart-
lett Memorial Medical Center, he
weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces.
He has four siblings, Michael,
William, Crystal and Alesha.
His grandparents are Ida Landrum
of Tulsa; Jodi New of Dallas; and
Elmo Burke Jr. of Mannford.
And his great-grandparents arc
Vera Barrett and Elmo Burke Sr., both
of Sapulpa, and Dorthy Gilliham of
Howe.

Marvin announce the birth of their
daughter, Chelsea Rae.
The baby was bom Nov. 11 at Tulsa
Regional Medical Center. She
weighed 6 pounds, 3'/z ounces and was
20 inches long.
She has one sister, 5-ycar-old
Savannah Nicole.

Oklahoma Jubilee Chapter to perform
TULSA — The Oklahoma Jubilee chapter of Harmony International will
present “Berlin and Barbershop” Saturday during an 8 p.m. performance in the
Great Hall of the Allen Chapman Activity Center on the University of Tulsa
campus.

The chorus was founded in 1982 and was named in honor of Oklahoma s
D'^c chapter'includcs women of all ages and professions who enjoy singing and Mike Pierce. The couples enjoyed
barbershop harmony. The chorus and chapter quartets are available for singing visiting,
engagements where they present a performance complete with choreography
and costumes.
To schedule a performance, call 835-7862.
The group practices each Monday at 7 p.m. at the Community Christian
Church, 8920 E. 31st St., Tulsa.

Travis Screechowl wins photo contest
Sapulpan Travis Screechowl placed first in the junior category of the October
“Shutterbug Special” photo contest sponsored by the McClure Community
Recreation Council of Tulsa. . D ,
The contest featured photographs taken in October in McClure ram-
Travis is a ninth grader at Sapulpa Junior High School and a member of the
Creek County 4-H program. He is the son of Ed and Janice Screechowl of
Sapulpa.
His mother, Janice, also won second place in the amateur division.
Shannon Walker selected for conference
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sapulpan Shannon Walker recently was selected to
attend the 1990 National Young Leaders Conference planned Dec. 4 through 9.
She was selected for the honor because of academic achievement, leadership
^Miss WafkCT will be one of 350 high school students attending the conference,
which is sponsored by the Congressional YOuth Leadership Council.
She will meet with Sens. David Boren and Don Nicklcs, as well as Rep. James
Inhofc.
Literacy' training workshop planned
A free, two-day training session for volunteers interested in tutoring students
for the Creek County Literacy Program is planned Saturday and Dec. 8.
Each session is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sapulpa Public
