wanted to charge her son with

"The first thing we'll do is take the
old elevator out,” he said, noting
that the elevator will have a new
passenger compartment and new
hydraulic pump
He added that although the
elevator's door frames will remain
intact — with a new paint job — the
unit “will use a new closing
mechanism for the doors."
Coat of the elevator compartment
and mechanism is estimated at
$48,000 while the shaft or "hat-
chway" is estimated at $18,000.The
elevator company is Harper
Elevator Co. of Tulsa
The new elevator will also reach
into the fourth floor Formerly the
county jail, the floor now houses the
court law library, the child support
enforcement unit and dusty storage
Whitehouse noted that fire depart-
ment officials said that the fourth
floor needed better escape plans

Conway explained that with an
emphasis on prevention, Operation
Aware is an intensive program
which helps children deal with teen
peer pressure
"It's not just a one-shot deal, but a
seven-month concept," he stressed
"In the fifth grade, we set the

The Army Corps of Engineers
received its full funding request for
Oklahoma projects Wednesday as
Congress approved a $14.3 billion
energy and water development ap-
propriations bill.
According to Oklahoma Corps
chief of Development Robert Hinds,
$11 million went to construction of
Skiatook lake.
Out of this appropriation for the
lake, to be located north of Tulsa.
$1,783,000 goes for recreation. $1.4
million goes for relocation of
pipelines and $400,000 goes for dam
work.
There is "no major change" in
other area Corps appropriations,
Hinds said noting that $2.4 million
goes to Keystone l,ake and $425,000
for Hey bum Lake.
Hinds noted that the appropria-
tions to Heybum and Keystone go
for "normal operations ”

“We hope to start some clean up and
rennovation on the fourth floor the
next fiscal year "
“This elevator is probably 25
years old,” Whitehouse said. "It’s
slow, and gets caught between
floors."
He added that parts for the
elevator are no longer available and
that we have to use only used parts.
The original elevator was
reportedly put together by different
companies.
Although the major components of
the elevator and shaft will be replac-
ed, Whitehouse noted that the county
may use part of the the old brace.

In Remembrance
Of My Husband bodford F. Mess
One year ago today,
Our heavenly Father, called you away.
He said “Come ” take my hand
Live with me in the promised land.
You will leave behind,
Wife, children, and friends so kind,
I still have work for them to do.
But real soon, III send for them too.
In memories they will recall.
Good times, bad times, Summers and Fall,
Bible readings, laughter, prayers and tears,
Joys and pain, that filled the years
There is no footprint where you walked.
The chair is empty, where you sat and talked
A Bible that's no longer read,
lt d covered now with dust instead
You are missed, so much my dear
My heart is filled with bitter tears.
Keep looking for me. I'm on my uay,
Jesus may say “Come”just any day.
Mrs. todford (Ina) Moss
Thank you my many friends and
neighbors, the Kiefer Baptist
Church and Bro. Rex Hecox for the
beautiful flowers, visitation and
prayers, And thank God for answer-
ing those prayers while I was in the
hospital. V
