wife and her husband in their cera-
mics shop at Los Angeles.
The ex-convict. James Merkou-
ris, was arrested Saturday in a tel-
ephone booth by two policemen
and an FBI agent He was held
in $25,000 bond on a federal charge
oi "unlawful flight to avoid prose-
cution for murder.”
Merkouris is accused of murder-
ing Robert Forbes. 49. and his
wife. De-pine, 35, in their shop
last Monday. California police put
a guard on the dead couple's six-
year-old daughter and the child's
grandparents because they said
Merkouris was known to have
threatened to wipe out the whole
family.
Police said Merkouris took a
"loud and sarcastic attitude” and
"shouted answers about every-
thing," They said he started deny-
