Deciding Game Today.

Anadarko, Sept, 2—In one of the
feature games of the season here today
Hobart shut out the locals on the nar-
row margin of one score.
For eight innings it was a battle roy-
al, neither side scoring when Laiken,
the big first baseman for the visitors,
singled, stole second and scored on
Nickell's two base hit.
A feature of the game was the heavy
batting of Nickell's, three times with
the stick and three safe singles.

Anadarko, Sopt. 3—The locals turned
the tables on the visitors in the stcond
game of the series today.
Costly errors in the third lost Hobart
the game, but every inch ol ground was
hotly contested by the visitors, but
O'Neill held them down to 5 hits and
the locals fielding was almost perfect.
The last pjame to decide the series will
be played here tomorrow.

SMALL BLAZE.
Fire Department Makes Quick Run
and Does Effective Work.
A little past six o'clock Wednesday
evening the fire alarm sounded from the
corner of North Boundary and Randlett
streets, where one of B. A. McFarland's
houses, occupied by G. A. Rogers, was
burning fiercely. The fire department
made a quick run and soon subdued the
flames. The loss occasioned by the lire
will amount to about $200.

ernor T. B. Ferguson believes that the
Geary convention will result in repub-
lican harmony in the second district and

Public Schools Will Commence Sept.

The attendance of the Hobart publie
schools, which commence Sept. 10th,
promises to eclipse the term of last
year. The attendance of last year was
nearly 750, the coming term promises
to open with an enrollment of over 800.
Bookdealers have supplied their

greater demand than this.
Mi" Laurena Maddy of Enid, who
accompanied Miss Jennie Herold home
for a short visit, returned to Enid this
morning, being suddenly recalled by a
telegram.
