Konawa, I. T., 22, 1905.
To t ie Citizens of Konawa, I. T.,
We the farmers living north of
your town on the line between
Oklahoma and the Ind. Ter. and
who wish to do our trading at
your town find that it will be
necessary for a bridge to be plac-
ed on said line 1 mile north of
Old Violet Springs so that the
road will be passable, and ask
that your people will furnish the
necessary money for the purchase
of the lumber and nails necessary
for same, and we will agree to
do the work at once and furnish
the necessary rough timber for
said bridge; and further appoint
Geo. Wortham one of our num-
ber to solicit your assistance as
above explained.

Those who attended the recit-
al given Monday night in the
Hammons & Crabtree building
by Prof. J. Frank Fouche, wit-
nessed a class of intertainment
seldom seen in this part of the
world and were treated to an
intellectual feast of humor, pa-
thos and tragedy that lasted
nearly two hours. Mr. Fonche
is an artist in his line and excells
in the production of tragedy.
His rendition of The Merchant of
Venice was excellent. Those
who stayed away missed a rare
treat and the Ladies Aid, under
whose auspices the entertainment
was given, is to be congratulat-
ed.
There isn't any house so small
that doesn't seem several rooms
too big after there has been a
death in the family.
It is surprising how many op-
portunities open up during a
conversation fot a man to tell
a secret he aas just learned.
