Education.
A well-rounded education that
makes Its possessor’s citizen of the
world, open to all the manifold Im-
pressions the world contains’; one who
“sees life steadily and sees It whole,"
can make only for physical Improve-
ment and di>es make for physical Im-
provement. The quotation Just writ-
ten Is from Matthew XVttdW; he used
It of Sophocles. And Is it not a
strange coincidence that In. the fes-
tival procession at Athens this' same
Sophocles, the great tragic poet, was
required to’ walk naked, because of
the physical perfection of his beauti-
ful body? Apparently his many-sided
culture and profound thought were
• mirrored in the beauty of his body. So
It will always be. The rouI will find
Its expression In the body. And that
mold will be transmitted' -to future
generations, for race ts all.—Ex-

Mastered Twenty-Nine Languages.
Sir Richard Burton, explorer and
linguist, was the master of 20 lan-
guages which he understood perfectly.
He made It a rule to study or read
something In one of these languages
every day and mnnnged to keep them
separated in Ills mind. He had seven
work tables and switched from one
to the other every day. At night he
banished all work and devoted him-
self to a novel. When he became sick
he would go to bed with a bunch of

Mrs. V. L Castleberry.
We take this means of thank-
ing our many friends and lovet
ones for their kindness and work
they did in extinguishing the fire
which destroyed our barn, feed
etc. The burning feed was scat
tered and extinguished with
water. In this way some feed
was saved but all feed and hay
in the stack was destroyed. Some
worked and watched ail night
and the fire , had only been out
about 20 minutes when the wind
changed and would have brought
the fire to our dwelling. Friends
you saved all you could and some
of you did it at- the peril of your
own lives, seemingly, for since
so much flu, pneumonia, etc., has
been raging-being overheated
was likely to bring it on. You
not only saved some feed but we
consider you saved our dwelling
and contents and other buildings.
It would have been impossible to
have saved them after the wind
had changed had the fire not
been extinguished before. God
bless you all.
— L. Street and wife.
