THE UNCLE
OIL CO.
Has one of the most productive oil fields in the Kansas field. Has some of the finest oil lands
in Indian Territory. It has a refinery of Its own in running order at Cherryvale and
Refined products are being sold all over Kansas.Missouri.and Oklahoma
and is building another refinery at Atchison, Kansas, and will have
A Pipe Line from the Territory to the Cherryvale Refinery
Owning its own production it is independent of the trust. This gives it a great advantage, for
it is not affected by the price of crude oil. It is evident that an enterprise so fortunate as to
have its own production could not be discriminated against successfully by competitors. The
Uncle Sam company has made a field of its own and is filling it. Its position is one from which
it will not be driven and its stock affords a safe investment. Stock now selling at 20c per share

Rev. Mr. Stewart, of the Baptist
church who is also Roberts pas-

time guests who had been invited
by the Young Mens Baraca were
gathering at the elegant home ot

that he was a victim of his many
friends and at once settled himself
down to the inevitable.

WHY NOT.
Are you insured against acci-
dents and sickness? If not why
not? If your time or life has a
! money value, protect it in the
I Continent al Causalty company
in the with a policy. Do not delay, see
is as simple as Huling A Endly agents, Amer-
1 ican Banl: building.
Independence Star.
Horace Greeley James’ heavy-
w-eight editorials directed at Mr.
Tucker of the Uncle Sam Oil com-
pany moght accomplish the result
desired by the Standard Oil com-
pany, his master, were the
animus thereof not so palpably
evident. “Sour grapes" clearly
defines the trouble with Horace.
The same term also applies to the
Topeka Herald. When those
apologists for the Standard were
waxing fat on the patronage of
Mr. Tucker they literally exhaust
the English vocabulary in the
application of glucose to their
new found angel, but the moment
Mr. Tucker saw tit to transfer
his advertising patronage to
papers friendly to the independ-
ent oil men, these journalistic
jackals turned loose their batter-
ies. Consistency? Bah! What
is* a Standard Oil supposed to
know about consistency?
ARE THEY WISE.
Our city fathers ought to re-
quire every able bodied man, in
Bartlesville to take out Accident
and Health Insurance, and it
would be right and proper to des-
ignate Iluling & Endly as the
agents to write it. The council
will probably take some action
regarding this matter at their
next meeting but you need not
wait you can get a Policy at any
time at room 22, American Bank
building.
