CAMEAON COMING
On Wednesday night of next
week there will be a basket-ball
game at the Apache Opera House
between the Apache High School
and the Cameron Aggies at Law-
ton. The Cameron School boys
have been playing some good
games and that is an assurance
of this one being good, as we
know what Apache can do. The
game will be called at 8:30 so be
there ready to root for the home
team.

In one of the best games wit-
nessed this season on the local
basket-ball court was staged Fri-
day night of last week when Tem-
ple High School came to Apache
and were defeated by the Apache
High School boys The game was
very interesting from the time
the whistle blew till time was
called at the other end The
game was anybody’s victory as
at the end of the first half the
score was 14 to 8 in favor of our
boys. The second half was a
fight from the start and Temple
gradually came to the front, but
were always just a little behind,
and the final score was 21 to 20
in favor of Apache. The home
boys did some excellent work and
it was appreciated by the local
fans as was shown by the enthus
iastic cheering and it is needless
to say that the players appreciate
the encouragement given them in
this way.
The Apache High School boys
go to Anadarko Friday night of
this week and we assure them
they have the best wishes of
Apache fans for a victory in this
game.
BASKET-BALL GAME
TUESDAY NIGHT
The Apache Indians and the
Fletcher Independent basket-ball
teams will play a game at the
Opera House in Apache on Tues-
day nighty Jan. 30th. The In-
dian boys beat Fletcher last week
by only one score, so this will
probably be a good game as both
teams are anxious to win. So
here is hoping the Indian boys
will ad another victory. Game
will be called at 8:15.
The Teacher’s meeting held in
| Apache Jan. 20th, was consid-
ered by all who attended, a very
j interesting meeting With two
i exceptions the program was ear-
i ried out as printed last week.
The lecture "What’s the Use?’’
by Rev. Carithers of the Mission
deserves special mention, as a
lecture to awaken enthusiasm, to
bring each one to a realization
that there is a “Use”, that it is
worth while.
Rev. Hogan gave a very in-
spiring talk on "Characteristics
of a Teacher.’’
The address by E. N. Collete,
Ass t State Supt., was both inter-
esting and instructive. He pres-
ented truths in such manner that
everyone must see his or her re-
sponsibility. He came as a sub-
stitute for State Supt. Wilson,
who was in a meeting somewhere
else in the state.
An excellent two course lunch-
eon was served in the High School
rooms by the Mother’s Club
This is only one of the many
things this club has done to pro-
mote the community spirit. The
ladies should have the loyal sup-
port and cooperation of eueryone
as the community spirit is so
needed everywhere.
The Apache Chorus rendered
some excellent music. The writer
heard many nice things said about
its work. The Apache pupils can
do things.
The teachers wish to express
their gratitude to the patrons and
friends who visited with us. We
hope this is only one ot many
meetings where we shall be
bro&ghl in closer touch with the
needs of the day.
