Congressman Adamson the au-
thor of the recently passed " hour
day law has given out an inter-
view as tb what he proposes to
do should the railroads refuse to
abide by the law He talks like a
10 yearoldschool boy and without
as much sense. He advises the
railroads to go slow and not take
advise of poor lawyers in their
opposition to the law. Just who
Adamson is, or what state he is
from no one seems to know. Ib-
is probably some polrr lawyer
who could not make a living >y
his profession and by some
means or other managed to be
elected to congress. While tin-
country is full of poor law
yers there are not as many in
proportiou as there as there are
j)oor congressmen, many of
whom are without any qualifica-
tions for tlie job at all. Had it
not been for the proposed rail-
r ad strike the country would
never have known there was a
man by the name of Adamson in
congress.
If Congress can regulate the
price of wages for a certaian
lass it has the same authority
to regulate the price of wheat
It should make a maximum price
so flour would not be su high
that the same jioor working

cial legislation would not have t*.
