Synonomous with socialism is

ticket he expected to vote.
Speaking of fair election laws
and disfranchisement, the soc-
ialists disfranchise their own
voters and enfranchise illegal
voters simply because they hold
red-cards and pay their dues.
A man who does not have a red-
card cannot run for office on the
socialist ticket, but a woman
who does, but who is not even
a voter, was a candidate for
the presidency of the United
States. The whole socialist
scheme is to disregard the law
and the constitution.
What more dishonorable thing
is there than to work for a man
and then later peddle his busi-
ness secrets?
A man’s disposition to hit the
man who insults him is govern-
ed largely by his chances of win-
ning the fight.
A socialist down in Johnson
county, who has had two years
experience, says that a socialist
is a “damn fool gone crazy.’
Seymore has a number of men
who take in every important
public meeting. Their wives
take in washing - Seymore (Ind)
Democrat.
It has been demonstrated that
the county can get along with-
out a ^county attorney, so why
not abolish the office and save
that $1500 per year?
Laverne Local brags about
having a large membership but
fail to tell the public that many
of that membership reside in
Beaver County and many others
are women and girls. If the
democrats were to claim all the
women who sympathize with
the democratic party it would
soon be quadrupled.
Morris is still drawing his
$125.00 per month and what has
he accomplished to date? Not
a thing, my dear. Last week’s
Record told the same old story:
“W. E. Morris was down from
the county seat and spent Sun-
day and Monday with home
folks. He set out trees and
panted potatoes on Monday.
If he does not do any better job
of raising potatoes than he has
attending to the county
attorney’s office, he had better
save the seed, but perhaps he
has a good wife who will tend
the spuds.
Morris missed1 the mark again
by a mile when he guessed that
a Buffalo minister wrote certain
articles for the Democrat. No
Buffalo minister nor any other
minister has ever written a line
for the Democrat. Morris, like
all -other socialists, is always
eager to assaiUhe church or the
ministers. Every time he makes
one of those wild guesses he gets
in bad. He always guesses that
someone in Buffalo did it and
right there is where he blunders.
No one in Buffalo, except the
editor of the Democrat, has ever
written a line for this paper. So
far as we are concerned, he can
just keep on guessing.
Wilson Leads in Illinois Election
Chicago, April 12.— Voters in
the Illinois presidential pre-
ference primary yesterday de-
clared in favor of President
Wilson on the Democratic ticket
and Senator L. Y. Sherman of
Illinois, on the Republican,
theirs being the only names on
the ballots.
The names of Roosevelt,
Hughes, Root and Mayor William
Hale Thompson, were written
in on comparatively few Re-
publican ballots and of Champ
Clark on some Democratic, but
Theodore Roosevelt was the
only one to secure a material
number of votes. The Sher-
man vote in Chicago was 63,823;
Roosevelt 11.620; Hughes 959;
Root 198; and Thompson 2.
President Wilson polled 76,398
at the head of the Democratic
ticket and Champ Clerk 75.

Masons were in attendance from
Buffalo, Shattuck, Gage. Fargo,

towns, and much enthusiasm
was manifested. R. O, Renfrew

dieted that the candidates pre-
sent on May 3 will find the sands
exceedingly hot, and in order to
prevent interference on the part
of the law, the Sheriff, County

als will probably be locked up
for twenty-four hours.
Those from Buffalo who will
take the Shrine are E. Lee Ad-

Every day you see a socialist
press statement about the new
members that some socialist
local had secured. Those who
give out that information, how-
ever. fail to tell the public that
a great percentage of those
"new members" are women and
girls, who have no legal vote in
this state. Through the social-
ist referendum plan of nomina-
ing a ticket these feminine
Mexico City, April 16.-Villa’s
dead body has been dug up out
of a two-weeks old grave by
Carlos Carranza, nephew of Gen-
eral Carranza, the first chief of
the constitutionalists, and is now
being brought by him and an es-
cort of soldiers to the city of
Chihuahua.
This information was contain-
ed in a telegram received by the
war department late Sunday af-
ternoon.
According to the dispatches
;hus far received, Villa’s death
was due to the amputation of
one of his legs, made necessary
by wounds received by him in
the fighting around the Guerre-
ro district in the state of Chihua-
hua. After being desperate!}
wounded he was carried by hi-
followers to the town of Temosa
chic, where the operation of am-
putation was performed by a
village doctor.
As soon as the bandit chief
could be moved he was carried
south to the town of Cusihuira-
chic, thirty-nine miles distant.
Here, according to the story, ht
lingered for a few days, suffer-
ing greatly, but death ended hb
career.
The identity of the wounded
man had been kept secret frorr
the villagers, and he was buried
at night so as to attract as little
attention as possible.
The escort who carried the
wounded chieftain from lemo-
sacbic to Cusihuirachic was a
colonel, who later was surround-
ed by constitutionalist forces and
surrendered himself and his
command. He asked for indem-
nity and promised to lead the
constitutionalists to the grave.
