Section 1* That pon female dog owned or kept within the

th^r. that it shaU be the duty of the Marshal whenever any dag is brought
or found within the corporate limits of said town after the lat day of July.
In any year, upon which the tax has not been paid for said year, to fine the
owner or keeper of said dog ten (10) days notice, in writing, to pay the
tax upon said dog, and If the tax is not paid after the expiration of said ten
(10) days, it shall be the duty of the Marshal to kill and destroy said dog,
and provided further that the so paid tax upon any dog brought or found
within the corporate limits of said town after the lat day of July in
year shall be One Dollar ($1 00) for each male dog, and Two Dollars ($1.00)
for each female dog, for and covering the fractional part of the year from
the date of payment of tax to the first day of July next following.
Sec 4. That all moneys collected for dog tax by said Marshal *hall be
turned ov* to the town Treasurer, taking hts receipt for same, and said
Marshal shall keep a record of all moueys received from such tax, and
from whom received, date of payment, etc. .__.
Sec. 5. That any person, or the owner or keeper of any female dog
within the corporate limits of this town, who shall, after having been notified
by the Town Marshal, allow the same to run at large while in heat, and such
conditions as to cause other dogs to collect around her, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not less than
One Dollar ($1.00), nor more than Five Dollars ($5.00); and each day that
said female dog while in such condition shall be allowed to run at large, shall
be and constitute a separate offense.
Sec 6. That it shall be the duty of the town Marshal to collect the tax
herein provided for, upon all dogs owned or kept within the corporate limits
of said town, and all dogs upon which the tax has not been paid a*t proriJ*1
for in this Ordinance. and for which no owner can be found, after JJejmplrn-
tion of forty-eight (48) hours, shall be killed and destroyed by said Marshal
and buried at the expense of the said town.
Sec. 7. That the Marshal shall be allowed Fifty Cents (50c) for each
d°g Sec^S^ Vhat any person interfering with the Marshal in the discharge
of hie duties in connection with said Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be lined not less than One
Dollar ($1.00) nor more than Five Dollars ($5.00).
Sec. 9. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from
and after Its passage and publication.
