OKARCHE, April 28—Mr. and
Mrs. Leo W. Morris have an-
nounced the engagement and ap-
proaching marriage of their daugh-
ter, Miss Dorothea Frances Morris,
to William Joseph Schaefer, son
of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Schaefer.
The wedding will be an event
of June 7 In Holy Trinity Catholic
chu-ch.
Miss Morris was graduated from
Mount Carmel academy, Wichita,
Kans., and attended Clarke college,
Dubuque, Iowa. At the present
time she Is attending the Univer-
sity of Oklahoma. She is a mem-
ber of Alpha Gamma sorority anc
Lambda Tau, honorary medical
technology fraternity. Miss Morrif
was scholarship chairman for the
sorority last year.
Mr. Schaefer was graduated fron
Holy Trinity school and attended
Central State college. Edmond, anc
OU. He Is a member of Tricoi
architecture fraternity.
The quarterly meeting of the
Enid deanery of the National
Council of Catholic Women will be
held Tuesday, May 2, at Alva.
Mrs. R. G. Dillard of Yuma
Ariz., came Sunday for a few week;
visit with her sister, Mrs. C. W
Wright.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schaefer wen*
to Guthrie last Thursday to vlsi'
Mr. Schaefer's father, Peter Schae
fer, who is a patient at the Swans
burger nursing home. They alsc
visited Mrs. Louisa Meyer and Johi
Hoffman, for Okarche residents.
Mrs. O. F. Leltner, grand regen’
of Catholic Daughters of America
will be a delegate to the state con-
vention in Chickasha April 29-30
Miss Josephine Alig is the alter-
nate.
Mrs. Leltner will attend a meet-
ing of the grand regents at S and
the banquet at 7 p. m. Saturda'
in the Student Union building at
Oklahoma College for Women. Or
Sunday a breakfast will be served
by the Chickasha court after
church services for all officers,
delegates and members present.
The Tegular meeting will begir
at 11 a. m. Election of all state
officers will be held in the after-
noon.
Robert Walling of Norman spent
the week-end with Mrs. Walling
and children at the home of Mrs
Walling's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Adolf Schroder. Mrs. Walling and
son, Bobby, who spent the past
two weeks here, and her new son,
John Riley, w’ho was bom April 9
at the Okarche hospital, returned
to their home with Mr. Walling
Sunday. They were accompanied
by Mrs. Schroder, who will assist
in caring for her new grandson
and help them move into their new
home which they purchased re-
cently at Norman.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo W. Morris
went to Ardmore Friday morning
to attend the bankers group meet-
ing Friday and Saturday. They
spent Sunday at Norman with
their daughter. Miss Dorothea
Morris, a student in the Univer-
sity of Oklahoma.
Mrs. C. M. Hawkins went to
Wichita, Kans.. Saturday for a visit
with her mother, Mrs. C A Hie-
bert, and other relatives for a few
days.

George J. Allg. Mr. and Mrs. John
Ottls, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ottis, Mrs
Anna Maehs. Ed Krittenbrlnk and
Ed Meyer attended the funeral
Saturday afternoon of John A
Hofmann, Kingfisher county pio-
neer, who died April 20 at the
Swansburger nursing home In
Guthrie, where he was taken on
April 1 of last year to be cared for.
The funeral service was in King-
fisher with Rev. Ray Autry offici-
ating. Burial was made in the
Kingfisher cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter.
Miss Marie Hofmann, of Kingfish-
er, and a son, Lloyd, whose ad-
dress is unknown. His wife died
Oct. 26, 1948. Mr. Holmann was
born June 18. 1867, at Jefferson.
111., and was one of the aarly pio-
neers of Oklahoma, making the
activities and moved to Kingfisher.
