family picnic supper at 6 o’clock
Saturday evening honoring Mrs. Oz-
mun’s father, B. u. Rector, on his
birthday anniversary.

Mrs. Lillie Essley
Gets Unique Honor
Mrs. Lillie Essley. past president
of the Woman's Society of Chris-
tian Service, Wesley Methodist
church, has been honored by having
a tree named for her on the Okla-
homa City university campus, Okla
homa City.
The honor was given Mrs. Essley
during the school of millions held
at the university the past week.
Memorial trees have been bought
for landscaping the campus by
various districts honoring some out
standing worker for that group.
Mrs. Essley was named by the El
Reno group.
Dr. C. T. Smith, president of the
university, presented gifts to those
honored. They were tiny silvered
pots holding sprigs of ivy from the
church John Wesley organized in
England.
Those from El Reno attending
the week’s session included Mrs.
T. W. Brittain, Mrs. Lawrence King,
Mrs. Roy Poole, Mrs. Paul Brinkley,
Mrs. Joe Waldron and Mrs. Earl

Mrs. Myers to Office
Mrs. Ralph Myers was elected
vice president of division three of
the state of Oklahoma during the
Jaycee Jaynes state board meeting
held Saturday in Oklahoma City.
The junior chamber of commerce
and Jaycee Jaynes attended a
luncheon Saturday at noon at the
Skirvtn hotel and the Jaynes’ after-
noon session was held at the
YWCA.
Those from El Reno attending
included Mrs. Roy Stafford, presi-
dent of the local chapter; Mrs.
R. L. Richerson, vice president;
Mrs. Ernest Potts and Mrs. Ralph
Myers, Jr.

south of El Reno, had as their 1
o’clock dinner guests Sunday, their
nephew, Martin D. Huchtemann. of
Elmendorf airforce base. Anchorage.
Alaska, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Huchteman. Afternoon guests were
Mrs. Herbert Huchtemann and
daughters, Karen, Della Mae and
Betty Ann.

Ted Leroy Merritt.

Gifts were sent by Mrs. Merle
Woods and Miss Sara Louise Woods,
El Reno, and Miss Patsy Bross, Miss
Marilynn Keller and Mrs. Roy
Hahn, all of Oklahoma City.
Garden flowers decorated the
rooms and the serving table was
covered with a white linen table-
cloth. Decorations for table included
the cake, the punch bowl and white
tapers in crystal candleholders.
Miss Cosgrove presided at the
punch bowl and Miss Newman
served the cake.
Miss Engeihart, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. H. D. Engeihart, 907 South
Hoff, and Mr. Merritt, son of Mr.
and Mrs. T. G. Merritt of Stillwater,
will be married at 7 o’clock Saturday
evening in the First Baptist
church.

son. la a guest of Margaret Chiles
in Fort Worth. Tex.
Mrs. J. L. Patman, 1021 South
Hoff, is a patient at Memorial hos-
pital in Arkansas City, Kan. She
was injured in a fall at her hotel
where she was an overnight guest.
Mr. Patman, who accompanied his
wife on the trip, returned to El
Reno Monday morning. They were
enroute from Independence. Kan.,
where they attended the Richards
family reunion.
Barbara LeFever of Calumet and
Mrs. Mae Snow of Oklahoma City
left Sunday morning for Owatonna,
Minn., where they will be guests
of Mrs. Snow's son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Miller
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Shepherd and
daughters, Carolyn Jean and Carrie

ing for a three-week vacation in
Minnesota and South Dakota.
Mrs. Elsie Boling, Concho, plans
to leave Wednesday morning for a
week’s vacation in St. Louis, Mo.

son, Ferdie, route 3, returned Sat-
urday from a two-week vacation in

were accompanied on the trip by

left Sunday morning for her home
following a visit with her sister.

Born at Camargo, he attended
school in Oklahoma City and re-
ceived his higher education in
Oregon State college and Okla-
homa A. and M. college, Still-
water. earning degrees in wildlife.
He is a navy veteran of World
war II, and is a member of the
Baptist church.
His hobby is collecting arrow-
heads.
Wint is married and lives at
the state game farm. He has two
children, Timmy, 4, and Kip,
3 months old.
