A j. Meadows, recruiting ser-
geant for the army and airforce
here, has been a resident of. El
Reno for two months.
Bom at El Dorado. Jan. 10,
1929, he received his education In
schools there, and with the army
and airforce recruiting service.
He formerly lived in Elk City,
and came to El Reno from Okla-
homa City to handle recruiting
for Canadian, Kingfisher and
Blaine counties.
He Is a member of the Baptist
church, the Veterans of Foreign
Wars and the Disabled American
Veterans, which he serves as
Junior vice commander.
Sergeant Meadows lives at 302
South Evans. He will be Joined
by his wife, Doris, and son. James
Norman, in June when they move
here from Mobile, Ala.

went to Mrs. Earnest Haynes, and

ond high score favor. Refreshments
were served by the hostess at the
close of the afternoon.

Mrs. C. L. Wintermute was hon-
ored with a surprise pink and blue
shower when the DAL club met
Tuesday at her home in Calumet
for their regular all-day meeting.
A covered dish dinner was served
at noon and crocheting was the
work for the day. Roll call was

and Odd Fellows attended a social
meeting of the Yukon lo<lgc at tbe

ning.
. During the miscellaneous pro-
gram, a group of E3 Rerv Rebekahs
presented a fancy drill. Mrs. E. R.
Barnhart Is drill capt-hi and'Mrs.
Josephine Dyer played the piano
accompaniment. Mrs. Barnhart was
presented a gift of appreciation
from the Yukon lodge.
The remainder of the evening
was spent Informally and refresh-
ments were served.
