Time
Time marches on and yet we sit
down and do so little for ourselves
In applying Christian principles to
our lives. We must do now what we
intend to do. It is too easy for us
to put off living a Christian life.
Really though, living a Christian
life is the easy way. When practiced
I it seems everything that is done is
I done easier and better. More people
I profit by our actions and our deeds
Ilf there is a true Christian spirit
| behind them.
Let your mind and your body obey
■ those laws and principles set down
■ nineteen hundred years ago. Prin-
ciples which have proven themselves
■by test. Principles which were
■taught first by only a few men, but
■are now taught by thousands and
■practiced by millions.
Sunday, Otto Bergncr, again will
lead the Everett Poole Men's Bible
fclass in another lesson giving us
Insight and guidance in those Chris-
tian ideals which are so necessary.
The class begins at 9:30, the les-
on at 10:00.
See you Sunday!

How Can I?
Q. How can I prevent canned
goods from freezing?
A. Slip each Jar into a paper bag,
then slip another bag over each
Jar. The contents will never freeze,
nor will the jar burst, no matter
how cold it may become.
Q. How can I lessen the drip
from candles?
A. A simple method of accom-
plishing this is to place the candles
in the refrigerator for several days
before using.
Q. How can I prevent rusting of
hinges?
A. Wash the metal hinges on
doors frequently in warm soapsuds,
and they will not need so much
polishing. Wipe dry after washing,

Odd Animal-Plant
‘Thing’ Is Observed
AUSTIN, Tex., Nov. 13 —(U.R)_
University of Texas scientists are
studying a strange creature which
is mostly animal but also part
plant.
Dr. Jack Myers, zoology profes-
sor, described the animal-plant as
a small, green, single-cell “thing
of the most primitive type.
It swims in water and can swal-
low solid food. However, scientists
say its system contains chloro-
phyll and between meals it sus-
tains itself by photosynthesis, the
process whereby most plants util-
ize sunlight for growth.
The study is being made in an
effort to learn more about the
basic processes which allow plants
and animals to live.

FI8H KEPT QUIET
LANSING, Mich., —(U.R)— Frisky
trout are put to sleep to cut down
the cost of transporting them from
hatcheries for planting in Michi-
gan lakes and streams. The Con-
servation Department says sodium
amytal is put in the water of the
transport tank to quiet the fish so
more can be carried each trip.
Once returned to untreated water,
the fish revive and show no after
effects.
