Mortals and Immortals” will be
the subject of the sermon-lesson
In all Christian Science churches
throughout the world on Sunday,
Nov. 18.
The Golden Text is from Romans
8:13: “If ye live after the flesh, ye
shall die: but If ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the
body, ye shall live.” Among the
citations which constitute the
lesson-sermon Is the following from
the Holy Bible: “A good man out
of the good treasure of his heart
bringeth forth that which is good;
and an evil man out of the evil
treasure of his heart bringeth forth
that which is evil: for In the abun-
dance of the heart his mouth
speaketh” iLuke 6:45).
The lesson-sermon also Includes
the following passage from "Sci-
ence and Health with Key to the
Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy,
the Christian Science textbook:
“Christian Science, rightly under-
stood, leads to eternal harmony. It
brings to light the only living and
true God and man is made In His
likeness; whereas the opposite be-
lief—that man originates In matter
and has beginning and end, that
he Is both soul and body, both good
and evil, both spiritual and ma-
terial—terminates In discord and
mortality, in the error which must
be desiroyed by Truth” (p. 338).
