Mr. and Mrs. Arnold En-
tertain Tuesday
Making a large affair tingle with
the friendly hospitality of the small
foursome was the accomplishment
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Arnold
when they entertained at their
home, 518 South Barker avenue,
Tuesday evening In celebration of
their silver wedding anniversary.
Complete radiance and .artistic
beauty gave a spirit of charm to
the event with a sliver color note
prevailing In every detail. All the
chandeliers were festooned with
silver bells and a border of them
appeared In each of the arch-
ways.

five Premier roses presented by
Mr. Arnold to his bride of twenty-
five years ago. They were ar-
ranged with stevia to form the
attractive bouquet.
The many lovely gifts were on
display In the dining room, where
the table was lovely with a lace
cover and unique center piece
made up of a wedding scene on
a reflector. It included the altar
and bridal party in miniature and
was - flanked on either side by
white tapers in silver candel-
abras.
Bridge was the diversion of the
evening and the novel tallies, made
by Miss Lona Shepard, were of
black with a silhouette of the bride
and groom in silver which was
encircled with a silver wedding
ring and tied with white rib-
bons.
Invited guests included Mrs. J.
M. Carter, of Oklahoma City, who
was Mr. and Mrs. Arnold's first
neighbor when they came to El
Reno as newlyweds. Mr. and Mrs.
Guy S. Hensley, Mr. and Mrs. H.
D. Walter. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shaf-

Large Affair Is Given At
Country Club
Full house attendance, jollity and
teasing music by Loren Spurr’s or-
chestra contributed to make the
initial holiday dance for El Reno
society Tuesday night a gay suc-
cess.
It was a fairy sojourn Into 'Toy-
land" and snow to attend the gay
affair whioh was given by Mr. and
Mrs. Art Sawallisch. Dr. Paul J.
Craden and Fred Hlx at the El
Reno Oolf and Country club.
A sign "Tovland" aopeared over
each of the French doors, on the
panes of which were silhouetted
toys of all description with the
lower frame of each edged with
snow. Awnings over doors and
windows were snow covered and
edged with Christmas lights, while
Icicles formed a border around
each. A large electrically lighted
star appeared in the East.
In each corner of the room was
a silver Christmas tree adorned
with red ornaments, while at the
left of the fireplace was a huge
snow man. Santa Claus graced
the piano and mantel. The latter
was lined with stockings bearing
gifts for the guests. Olfts also
banked the mantel and were pre-
sented during Intermission after
Santa had distributed candy canes
bearing numbers which correspond-
ed. Jollv Old Saint Nick made the
distribution.
The three ceiling lights were
prettily decorated, the center one
being showered with silver stream-
ers and red balloons, while the
side ones were surrounded with
a star shaped reflector and were
festooned with silver.
A buffet lunch was served from
a large table which was centered
with a low white bowl filled with
red roses.
Among the out-of-town guests
were Mrs. Florence Dawson, of
Vlnlta, Mr. and Mrs. George W
Brinkley, of Ardmore. Lieut, and
Mrs. C. W. Bennett and Capt. E
E. Hodgson, of Fort Reno, Mr. and
Mrs. Don Sloan Burton, Mr. and
Mrs. Louts Knee land. Mr. and Mrs
Wirt Harris and Mr. and Mrs
Howard T. Baugh, all of Okla-

of The Christ as narrteted in
Luke 2:1-14. which was concluded
with prayer for the scripture les-j'

each one present.
At the cloee of the most enjoy-
able afternoon the hostess served

conducted a parliamentary drill.
Miss Thompson gave a report on
needy families and was responsible
for the collection of a goodly sup-
ply of clothing for charity.
Mrs. Ruckman announced plans
for the breakfast to be given by
the Norman club Sunday morning, j
January 16. and a number from
here expressed their plans to at-
tend.
Plans were made for the club’s
annual Christmas party and gift
day evening in Oklahoma City.
