TULSA—(U P)—A new dental an-
esthetic invented by a New York
college professor may be all right
for New Yorkers, but for Oklaho-
mans. apparently, it's a different
story.
The New York professor who an-
nounced the discovery of the new
compound, said it would enable the
dentist to drill Into your worst mo-
lar while you soundly slept.
Tulsa dentists, eager to try the
new discovery, rushed to drug stores
to have the formula filled. Then
came the story of their results.
One dentist, who ordered his sup-
ply of the drug direct from New
York, said it was n success. Other
dentists, however, who had the for-
mula filled locally, reported no re-
sults at all, and almost to a man
were willing to write- off the new
discovery as a dead loss.

of more than 100 cases in the Uni-
versity of Michigan dental school,
Dr. Paul Jeserich said today.
"In none of the live rases upon
which the desensitizer was effective
was the desensitization as profound
as that obtained by injections of
novocalne. ’ Jeserich added
