FREE HOME LEAGUE.
A territorial onuvention ol Ik. i tee
Home League to be composed .d six
delegate, from e»oh organized i only
is horob.v called to meet at l’er.y, on
Holiday, October 0, 1895.
The objects of the meeting arc,
To formulate a memorial anti peti-
tion to congress.
To agree upon the best methods to
be used to obtain the legislatin', de-
sired, to wit: The application i ; ike
general homestead law to all the lauds
in Oklahoma.
To extend our organization to all
parts of the territory of Oklahoma.
We recommend that eaoli county
hold a meeting to elect six delegates at
the county court house at 1 3u P m
Saturday, September 28, 1895.
At such time organized counties w id
proceed first to elect permanent league
officers, men who are energetic and
pledged to assist in its work. The
county convention shall then elect six
delegates to the territorial conveniimi
and the county president and : ecr-
tary shall certify said eleotion to the
territorial president and secretary
The county league conventions shall
be composed of three delegates from
each local leaguo in the county.
As county conventions nre composed
of only delegates from local leagues
we urge the immediate organization of
every community. Meet at once and
elect officers and send us their names
and addresses and we will send consti-
tution for adoption.
Every man and woman in Oklahoma
Is directly interested in the success of
this work. Its importance to the claim
holder, to the business men and to the
prosperity of the territory can not he
over estimated. Success means the
saving of hundreds of dollars to each
settler which aggregates millions in
the territory.
Therefore let all assist in a united
organized eflort for a cause which we
s'sem the most important and bene
ticial of any issue before us.
By order of the hoard of trustees.
■Iamks J. Houston, Pits
Heniiy S. Johnston. Sec.
I’erry, O. T., Aug. 28, 1895.
In the Choctaw injunction matter
the supreme court sustained every mil-
lion made by the attorneys for the rail-
road to affirm the deeission bocause of
defects int the appeal, and also affirm
ed the decision on the merits of the
whole case, every point of the Judge
Scott decision being sustained. The
opinion was given by Judge McAtcc
and concurred in all by the judges.
This doubtless closes the matter for all
time, and is a great victory for Hon J.
W McLoud and Judge John I. Dillc.
who have so ably conducted tlio
i erritoryrMeetlng of the O. A. R. in
Cuthrle.
