METHODISTS, ATTENTION
El Reno, O. T., July 1, 1895.
To the Methodist Ministers of Okla-
homa Territory.
Brethren—For a number of years
we have labored side by side, building
tip altar against altar, and, notwith-
standing we have done our work under
independent organizations, our love
for each other has increased with our
acquaintance. The same is true of the
people where we have served.
While our relations have been friend
ly and harmonious, we have not been
oblivious to the fact that maintenance
of two independent Methodist churches
in the same town or community where
one would he sufficient, has entailed
peculiar hardships ou both pastors.
Belieyitig therefore that the time lias
fully come when the rank and file of
the ministry and t ho lail.v should lie
heal’d ou the nooossity of a closer
uuion of Methodism in tins country,
and believing u id e are belter
qualified by exp i on e to discuss this
question than lhuso who labor on Hie
