NEAR DEATH
BY SMOTHERING
Bit Husband, With Aid of Car dm,
Effects Her Deliverance.
Draper, N C.—Mrs. Helen Dalton, of
this place, says: "1 suffered tor years,
with pains in my left side, and would
often almost smother to death.
Medicines patched me up for awhile
but then 1 would cet worse again. Final-
ly my husband decided he wanted me to
try Cardui, the woman's tonic, so he
bought me a bottle and 1 began using it.
It dia me more good than all the medi-
cines I had taken.
I have induced many of my friends to
try Cardui. and they all say they have
been benefited by its use. There never
has been, and never will be, a medicine
to compare with Cardui. 1 believe it is
i good medicine tor all womanly trou-
bles."
For over 50 years, Cardui lias been re-
lieving woman's sufferings and building
weak women up to health and strength.
If you are a woman, give it a fair trial.
It should surely help you, as it has a
million others.
Oet a bottle of Cardui to-day.

Munford, Ala.-" 1 was so weak ami
nervous while passing through the
Change of Life that
I could hardly live.
My husband had to
nail rubber on all th.
gates for 1 could not
stand it to have a
gate slam.
"1 also had back-
ache and a fullness
in my stomach. 1
noticed that Lydia
E. l'inkham's Vege-
table Compound was
advertised for such cases anil I sent and
got a bottle. It did me so much good
that I kept on taking it arid found it to
be all you claim. I recommend your
Compound to all women afflicted as I
was. " — Mrs. F. P. Mullendoke, Mun-

An Honest Dependable Medicine
is Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Com-
pound. A Root and Herb medicine orig-
inated nearly forty years ago by Lydia
E. Pinkham of Lynn, Mass., for con-
trolling female ills.
Its wonderful success in this line has
made it the safest and most dependable
medicine of the age for women and no
woman suffering from female ills does
herself justice who does not give it a
trial.

Harmless.
The story of the discovery is an
interesting one.
ihe iNauonal Drug anl Chemical
company of Canada, Limited, were
aware that i'reoli Lime Juiae had ex-
lensive use as a wholesome bever-
age in the British Navy anu Mercan-
tile Marine, and that it was valued
as a preventive of scurvy among the
sailors.
This suggested that Lime Juica
might also have other medical va-
lues. Accordingly, samples of Lime
Fruit Juice were submitted to th«
Molson Laboratories of Pathology
and Bacteriology at McGill Univer-
sity, Montreal, with instructions to
test the Lime Juice by careful ex-
periment.

Many iorms oi disease .are now
prevented or cured by administering
substances inimical to the germs that
produce me disease, and now coin-is
the good news that so simple and
agreeable a remedy as bJnie Fruit
juice will act as a preventive of ty-
phoid fever.
Th's means much. For now every
lamily can protect itself against ty-
pnoid intection in the water supply
by using Lime Fruit Juice.
Put into every day English the re-
port states that one tablespoonful
of Lime Fruit Juice will kill typhoid

How Much
j- ^ The L. C. Smith Bros. Rail bearing,
Service Can You '
Get From Your Typewriter?
It's what a machine does, not what it costs, that is
most important.
All typewriters do not have the same efficiency and the
same operator does not get the same result on every writing
machine.
The L. C. SMITH & BROS. Typewriter
will produce ten to twenty per cent, more work than any
other typewriter ever made.
How is this possible?
Here are a few reasons:
1. It is ball-bearing throughout—others are not.
2. All operations are controlled from the keyboard.
3. It Is the lightest touch machine made.
4. It does not "smut" the carbon.
5. The ribbon reverses automatically.
6. The type Is so protected that it is not battered by
collision.
7. One motion ot the hand returns the carriage and
operates >he line space.
8. It has an inbuilt biller and tabulator.
No trouble to write on paper as small as a post-
age stamp.
It Is built for service.
