petty strikes and lockouts for the
year 1909, only one of which requir-
ed the interference of the State
Board of Arbitration, speaks well for
the labor movement in Oklahoma,"
says Labor Commissioner Daugherty,

7000; building trades, 5031; carpen-
ters, 2821; railroad employes, mis-
cellaneous, 2903; railway train ser-
vice employes, 1735.
Approximately fifty new locals were
instttutted during the past year, with
8000 new members. Old locals report
in reased membership of 2616, mak-
ing a total of 5616 added to the rolls
during the year 1909. Carpenters
lead with the largest increase, 982.
The building trades average 8.9
months of work per year; railroad
employes, 11.8 months, the average
for all crafts being 9.7 months in the
year.

ends the following new labor reg-
ulation: Mandatory steam boiler in-
spection, licensing stationary engi-
neers, a board of examiners and in-
spector of plumbing in cities of 7,-

ishing barber colleges and covering
sanitary conditions in barber shops.

quaint comedian, and his cosmopoli-
tan players, open their engagement
at the Majestic Airdome, for one solid
week, presenting a series of high-
class comedies and dramas, with a
change of specialties each night. Mr.
Carl Bedenbender, advance represen-
tative for Al Phillips Cosmopolitan
Players, states that this Is one of the
strongest companies on tour this sea-
son. Mr. Phillips is not only a cle
ver comedian, but America's cham-
pion soft shoe dancer.
The opening play will be "The
Egyptian"—spectacular comedy dra-

All chl'dren who are to sing at the
opening ot Convention Hall will meet
for rehearsal at Convention Hall on
Friday afternoon. Every one must be
present. 1st and 2nd grades at 3:30
p. m.; 3rd and 4th grades at 4 p. m.;
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades at 4:30
p. m.
