Trains to Wichita Over the Tracks
of the Orient.
Guthrie, Okla., Nov. 25.—The Den-
ner, Enid and Gulf is pushing the
work of making connection with the
Orient as much as possible, and It is
expected that the line will bo com-
pleted by the 15th of December. When
the gap infilled tli D. E. and G. will
run a through train to Wichita, using
the Orient track from Cherokee.
George Corwln, right of way agent
for the D. E. and G., reports excellent
progress being made all along the line
of the extension northwest from Enid.
The gap between Nashville and Cher-
okee is almost closed, and connections
with the Oi l 'lit at the latter place
should be made not later than Decem-
ber 15th.
Mr. Corwln has been on an extend-
ed tour through central Kansas, in the
region to be penetrated by the road,
and gives glowing nccounts of the
conditions there. Good crops hav en-
couraged Immigration and the country
Is rapidly regaining Its normal condi-
tion, afler the long period of depres-
sion following the collapsa of the
boom, the short crop years, and the
depopulation of many of the counties
caused by opening Oklahoma to set
tlement.
The D. E. irnd G. surveyors have
run- a preliminary line as far
Larned, but the definite route to be
followed after leaving Kiowa is yet
determined.

SUSTAINED
CHALLENGE
TO JURIES
JUDGE GILLETTE WILL NOT TRY
CASES BEFORE THE PRESENT
JURIES.
He Also Holds That no Legal Jury ^
Can be Drawn in Caddo County
Under Present Jury Box Con-
ditions.
Anadarko!, Okla., Nov, 25.—'Today I
Judge Gillette sustained the challenges
to the legality of the grand jury now
In suflsjon here and ordered the jury j
dismissed. In his opinion declaring
the jury illegal, he also held that no
legal jury could be drawn from the
jury box as it now stands.
It will be remembered that since
the Phillips decision that turned Asa
Sharp loose, the jurists of the territory
have been having great trouble to
■cure legal juries, and each jujge
has acted independently In his meth-
ods most of them resorting to some
form of a common law grand jury.
Judge Gillette does not hold this
view and made a new departure order-
ing the township assessors to return
to the county clerk on December 4th
a list of names from their rolls equal
to the number the election judges
should have returned. These will be
placed in the jury box and Judge Gil-
lette will hold a jury draw from it to
be a legal jury.
Man's Unreasonableness
Is often as great as woman's. But
Thos. S. Austin. Mgr. of the "Repub-
lican," of Leavenworth, Ind., was not
unreasonable, when he refused to al-
low the doctor to operate on his wife
for female trouble. "Instead," he
says, "we concluded to try Electric
Bitters. My wife was then so sick
she could hardly leave her bed, and
live (5) physicians had failed to re-
lieve her. After taking Electric Bit-
ters, she was perfectly cured, and
can now perform all her household du-
ties." Guaranteed by the J. M. Reming-
ton Drug Co. Price 50c. *
